It's me again, on my fridge none of the cold air travels from the below freezer to the upper fridge. After a few days the freezer ices up thereby blocks the internal fan. I already replaced the fan and the thermistor, but I still have the same problem. So I believe it's the damper door that doesn't open when it should. thanks

I just replaced everything seen in this video. My only issue was at the end trying to put the box back in, I couldn’t for the life of me get it as flush as it was before. We’ll see soon if that is an issue or not. If this replacement doesn’t work, I’m wondering if it’s the defrost sensor not working, since it’s been icing up very quickly recently. Very thorough video, thanks!!

I am an HVAC instructor, and I have had one of these for close to a year now. Still working well and biggest issue is drying and we have found if you use the settings bulky for bedding, jeans for jeans it works better. We clean filter every load, but there was a large build up on left side wall where it come out of fan I did get it out with a refrigerator condenser brush

I have the same model. My problem is the freezer setting is “stuck”. Meaning if I lower the temp on the freezer side, it will automatically go back up by itself to the max setting of 7. It won’t stay on the setting I set it on.

People have gotton so lazy. Everyone wants to feel like they are being served every chance they get. There is nothing wrong with ice cube trays. Fill them up with water then place them in the freezer. In about an hour or so you can pull them out and with a light twist pop the ice cubes lose and dump them into what ever you choose to keep them in. Rinse and repeat for endless ice cubes. You will never run out of ice unless you were to lazy to fill the trays. Also you will never have repzir bill for a faulty ice maker that is built into a refrigerator.

Bosch owns Gaggenau, but a Gaggenau unit is very, very different with a Bosch, and worth its price. It's like saying the same group controls Porsche and Lamborghini, Seat and Skoda: so what? Sometimes brands stay entirely or mostly where they were prior to acquisition. Also: sometimes it's the lower-rung brand that borrows the tech from the higher, bought brand; Gaggenau technologies trickling down to Siemens and Bosch (for example). Or if AEG made great fridges and ovens, after Electrolux acquired them, they didn't shut that and rebrand Electrolux fridges and ovens; AEG's are still their own (and very good), while AEG washing-machines are rebranded, low-quality Electrolux.

Its possible that the board has gone bad as well. I literally have a video coming out next week about this issue. I bought a used/broken one of these JUST to film more issues that crop up on these since I made this video exactly 2 years ago. Often what happens is the pump goes bad -> blows board up -> needs both replaced. You can confirm this by checking for 120 VAC at the maroon harness on the control board. If you don't get 120 VAC between brown and black wires on pin 2/3, then the board isn't sending the proper drainage voltage to the motor because part of it has blown up

What I've found, 95% of products now days are meant to last just a little while, then break. Repairability is going down the drain. Find something that's as repairable as possible, but in the long run, they're all going to break, buy one that'll give you the best experience until it inevitably does break

I have a GE clothes dryer that wasn’t heating. After watching the video I realized the purple wire was burnt in to like many other people have stated was wrong with theirs. I replaced the end connector on the wire and the dryer worked perfectly, for one load of clothes then quit heating again. After sending this message I am going to tear the dryer apart again to see if im having the same problem. What causes this wire to burn in to as so many people are having trouble with? Also, can I use a heavier wire to replace the purple wire going to the heating element or would this create a fire hazard? Thanks for any advice.

Hi, the replacement wire is heavier than the one in the unit. The only way to fix it is a new heater pan
@Randymoore24
@Randymoore24 8 сағат бұрын
Why would I need to replace the heater pan? My heater works fine until the wire burns in to. Just replacing the wire with the heavier wire wouldn’t fix the problem? Im not doubting your word I’m just trying to understand what is going on with the unit. Thanks for the help.

@@Randymoore24 the OEM wire as installed on the original system is 14 AWG. The updated one is 12 AWG. You could theoretically go with a 10 AWG if you like, although I'm not sure who sells it. The issue is that if the spade connector on the heater pan has burnt up, the oxidation creates resistance at the point of connection between the wire and heater. The resistance will heat the terminal up over time, causing it to burn up again and again. Absolutely try a thicker gauge wire that can handle it, but I know for a fact that GE has basically begun telling techs to replace pan & wire simultaneously because of how dire this problem is. In about 80-85% of cases, the wire is sufficient, but in the 15-20% of situations, the terminal is too degraded and provides too much resistance to operate properly under use conditions.

I had a problem with my LG in door ice maker. The symptoms were first some water dripping when I put a glass against the door lever and ice remaking got slower and slower with more water over time. Finally no ice was being made at all. Using the test button showed it to be working. Thought the local thermostat was bad so I replaced the maker. Same problem. I realized it probably was the unit wasn’t getting enough cold air pumped to it by the freezer. Turned out down in the freezer at the back panel a tab at the bottom left had popped out of position. Over time that allowed ice to build up and push the panel out of alignment by about 3/4”. The fan that blows the air up into the door to freeze the ice got out of alignment so very little cold air got up to the ice maker. I removed the panel, used a hair dryer to melt that ice blob on the evaporator coils that pushed the panel out. Reinstalled the panel making sure the bottom tabs were securely locked into the back of the freezer. Plugged the refrigerator back in and that solved my problem. I think the back panel was not installed correctly from the start allowing this to happen. It took me weeks to figure this one out. It’s only been a week now since the fix so I will see if it does not happen again. It is possible the defrost heater is failing in that corner and the ice buildup and pushed the panel out. I am hoping for the former that is the panel was never installed properly and allowed the ice to push out with little restraint.

QUESTION: what kind of scrubber did you use to clean the mold off? Is it a round, plastic scrubber? I'm in Canada. I'm having trouble finding the pool chlorine shock that isn't a HUGE container at a huge price. The pool schock the same as the one you used I ordered from Amazon but, it hasn't told me yet the date of arrival. It says will send an email when date is known, and it's been a few days so far with no update. Is there a different brand or type that I might find easier to get soon? Any suggestions or answers are welcome!! Thx! I CAN'T WAIT to clean my front loader, washing machine. Thx for the video! ❤😁
