Hiii my tryouts are June or so, June 3 maybe. I have NO experience and am going to be trying out as a sophomore. According to my bestie, they dont do tumbling and jumps dont really matter but the team focuses a lot on the cheers. I played volleyball for two years. My strong points: • natural arm strength (augmented by volleyball) • make arms tight easily because i do that in volleyball • very strong thighs and legs in general, lots of muscle • naturally quite flexible • i take easily to athletics i can do: • good cartwheel • roundoff • backbend i am working on my front walkover so please give me some tips!!! EDIT: **I MADE THE SQUAD!** This year, the judges were stricter than usual. They are usually random moms, but this year, there is a new coach (I know her), there were three official cheer judges from across our state. Seventeen went out for the squad. Thirteen made it, but one of them is an alternate. Honestly, I could make my own "how to make the cheer squad" video! My saving grace was the tumbling; my coach knows that I can consistently do back walkovers (I did during the clinics), but I only did a backbend kickover during the actual tryouts. I was very tight, very fast motions (but not enough to be off-beat) and I ignored what the girl trying out with me did. I smiled the entire time though I was shaking terribly. I was "bouncy", which is a good thing (I didn't know), as it makes you look cheery. I was just nervous LOL. I am SO glad I made it! Important tips: - You GOT this. I have ZERO cheer experience. I made the squad, while other experienced cheerleaders were cut. - Do not let anybody distract you. - ALWAYS smile. Even if it feels awkward and dumb. - Keep your motions TIGHT. Pop-out if you can. - Look cheery! Be bouncy! - Don't say "Woooo"... LOL. - I mess up when I think about it. Practice so many times that you don't have to think about it and your body just knows it, so you don't use your brain when you actually do tryouts and then mess up. I believe in you guys.

It isn’t required for every school to know how to tumble but you should definitely ask the cheer coach at your school! also some schools have cheer clinics to work on your tumbling so it just depends on what school you go to!

Hello I’m planning on trying out for sheer this year as a sophomore at my highschool do you have any tips for beginners like me that have no experience? Also I’m I supposed to know how to do flips cartwheel and other stuff like that to make the team? Genuinely curious, it would be amazing if you answer this comment. Also thank you so much for posting this video💕

Hi Jaquelin! Thanks for your kind comment :) As far as tumbling and flips, it depends on the team! It is not required for every team, but it may be at your school. As a beginner, I would say watch KZfaq videos that teach cheer motions so you can get the basics down ahead of time. During tryouts, make sure you hit all of your motions sharp and clean, and smile a lot, even if you mess up! Having a positive mindset and a good attitude at tryouts will go a long way by itself! I’ll probably post a video or two with tryout tips around March just before most places have tryouts :) Good luck!!

I have a giant plastic tub of coconut oil in the shower. The oil seals in the water. Once I cleanse my hair if I use shampoo I then put in a dime size of coconut oil massaging through my hair. Then I use my hair conditioner over the coconut oil. I let it sit in for a few minutes, then rinse. This way if I put too much coconut oil in my hair some of it is rinsed out. Leaving it just right. Use big sized hair rollers on combed damp hair. It helps the hair cuticle smooth out and gives it more bounce. Heat drying will destroy your hair. I also have white platinum hair and this works for me. I only shampoo once per week to remove build-up. Also, I use ION creme white oil bleach in the lavender tube with the ION Olaplex dupe. I only use 20 volume. I have to bleach it twice. I use a plastic cap and then wrap a towel around the plastic cap to keep the heat in and the bleach moist. Then I tone with Wella t18. I've used the ION cool blonde 10.2V too. My hair is very porous so I can't leave in the Wella toner too long or it turns out dark silver. The ION creme bleach is the best bleach I've ever used. Try it. Follow the instruction exactly as written or you'll burn your scalp.
