Nice!! Question why burn it the paint spray it?
@PatriotDIY
@PatriotDIY Күн бұрын
The burn was mainly for the texture, the paint was to black out the whole inside of the letter

Doing a new cross for the church. Appreciate the insight, and also how great a dad you are by showing them and engaging them in the work themselves! I know many of my peers of mid-30's lament that fact that our Dad's knew pretty much any home problem, but most of us never picked up stuff from them.

I would prefer to use metal connectors instead of inserting those screws on a 45 degree angle…looks dangerous.

They are called pocket holes, it's a normal practice, especially in cabinet making. The jig drills a perfect hole for the screws, and the pocket hole screws are designed specifically for that. But metal brackets would work, just likely be more expensive

What's the dimensions of the square tubing used for the building frame? Who was the building manufacturer? What is the white insulation panels inside the framing?
@PatriotDIY
@PatriotDIY 2 күн бұрын
I believe it 2.5x3.5" steel tubing. The white is double bubble reflective insulation, I have a video on the install.

Lol , Yes i love my country and consider myself a Patriot, hence the channel name. But I don't see what Robert E Lee has to do with this video...though theres no doubt he was a great general. And the hat is a Gadsden Flag flown in the American Revolution....still nothing to do with the video but if it bothers you that much, I'm sure there's someone else on youtube you could watch aerating their lawn

Great video! It helped guide me how to proceed with my 12X16 metal building. I like the strips idea to maintain the moisture space. I'm using that idea. But my building has 2X4 framing with metal walls. I'm going to use 4X8 sheets of 2" polypro but cutting to fit in my 24" spaces between them. I'll screw the strips to the 2X4's then glue the cut insulation sheets to the strips and fill any cracks with "great stuff". (maybe a few screws to add more support). When insulated well, I'll consider paneling of some sort for my shed/workshop. Any suggestions/other ideas?

I wonder if once it dries doing a second go around to maybe rust the already etched top spots may give it a more rusty look.

Great video! I copied you exactly. I got the same barrel even. How do you empty it without causing a huge mess? Any special moves or a certain type of bag to dump into? I considered putting a large yard bag in there and screw the lid onto it, then only let if fill partially so I can still get the bag back out?

Just wondering, since you didn't sponge wipe those stones to keep the natural colors of the stone, have you considered using a stiff brush attachment on a polisher to go across those stones to bring out the natural colors? If you try this, post a video so we can see how it looks.

I've used old motor oil to seal my decks for years because my decks sit out in the weather a lot. Motor oil soaks in sealing the wood making it outlast the steal.

Really? I used a piece of wood during my last oil change and it got liberaly coated. I wiped it and just threw it to the side as scrap but i thought it went on similar to a stain. So you use used motor oil to seal the wood? I will do this if so!
