It was an ok-ish remake for me. There are quite a few negatives in this game. First of all - modern day leftwing politics. It's much more than "Nicole is a cougar now, grow up". There are gender neutral bathrooms, race swapped characters, Nicole uglified, planet cracking and oil industry parallels, several gay relationships, etc. It is very noticeable and has a negative impact on the immersion. The story is ok, but I prefer the original one. I do not like that Nicole and Isaac, instead of a loving and caring couple, are now a beefing couple and Isaac is feeling guilty because his last convo with Nicole was an argument about his parents. Sure, they tried to expand and add something, but it just does not work for me. The same goes for the regenerator enemy - a meh story. I don't know why nowadays every single game thinks that each boss fight needs to have 3 phases. The Remake boss fights are not hard, in fact, you can cheese them. During the first Leviathan fight you manually shoot the weakspots and skip the last phase quickly, in the second Leviathan fight you can use the turrets in specific order to make it very easy and the final boss can be downed with just a pulse rifle and its grenade option during the last "hit the weakspot" section. If you know how the game works, you will realize that backtracking is only necessary when you have obtained the third security clearance. Up until then it is actually detrimental. Since you need the third clearance to unlock all doors and the mobs spawn when you open doors, it is best to minimize backtracking. Most of the mobs have scripted spawns, except those spawned by opening doors. The game looks great though and is pretty atmospheric. I think the difficulty is higher than the default level of the original game, which defo makes it more fun. Btw, the game never tells you about the peeling system. In fact, I completed the game two times before I saw someone mentioning it on KZfaq. Flamethrower is actually a bad weapon because it does not stagger the necromorphs. You probably want sth like - Plasma Cutter, Force Gun, Line Gun in your arsenal. Overall, I think that Deadspace Remake is an ok effort to recapture the magic of the original Deadspace, but fails short of actually being amazing and memorable due to its issues. 7/10.

I think the action focused gameplay makes sense with the context of you playing as someone who is experienced in dealing with biological weapons as apposed to the relative novelty of previous entries.

Good DLC with tons of nostalgic moments. If you're a psycho like me, you can bring the foam finger with you on this journey. Explore everything within 30 minutes and refund it by the end of the day. (Yes, I'm a dirty achievement hunter, and the 250 gamerscore sitting there as I literally had every other achievement bothered me.) Genuinely nothing essential but if you love Dead Space, you'll love a little more Dead Space.

I feel that if you want a more tense experience, you should probably try to avoid cheesing through various sections and actually fighting all of the bosses properly, this can lead you into quite a bullet squeeze through some sections of the game, especially with the fight with "It" and Krauser, I'm just replaying the game on pro difficulty, and when I got to the Krauser fight, I was almost completely out of ammo, and had to trade in my fully upgraded red9 so that I could get the exclusive upgrade on the striker to get 100 shotgun shells to even stand a chance against Krauser. Watching those shells gradually go down as Mike then refused to do anything about the minigun operators in the following section was quite nerve-wrecking, and a really enjoyable and tense experience! My favorite part of this playthrough has to be the double El Gigante fight! It was tough at first, but it was so much fun learning the behavior of the giants and finding opportunities to strike at them, leading to yet another bullet squeeze that made the section with the novistadors and the sections after that really quite tense, every bullet had to be planned.

This is Resident Evil Degeneration: The remake but worse 4 episodes of literally nothing happening, the villain preaching about fear. Leon and Claire have no chemistry and barely interact, and their remake VAs do not fit the older versions of the characters at all And the thing that pissed me off the most was the ending, Leon complains about being hid secrets from but he chooses to hide damning information.. yet Jason is the bad guy for wanting to expose what really happened?

@@SSJdaveyI'm guessing they wanted to give Leon some arc in this movie/show, but due to the show's rushed pacing, there isn't much time provided to show him change. He just goes from "Bastards covered the whole thing" to "No! This info can't be revealed" without providing much context on why he feels this way. It doesn't feel he went through an arc that's organic. Oh yeah, Leon and Claire falling out felt so hamfisted and tacked on it hurts. They spent most of the story ignoring each other and connection between the two felt lost compared to how they were in RE2 and Degeneration. What's even sadder is that you could replace Claire with any intrepid reporter/journalist type of character and not much would change.

I played RE5 back in the day, but I only got my hands on the Gold Edition on PC, in 2011 or 12. I had absolutely no recollection of Desperate Escape whatsoever, maybe I didn't even have it, I don't know, but as I decided to get the achievements these past few days, I played these 2, knowing and fully remembering how awesome Lost in Nightmares was, and I didn't hate Desperate Escape, but it was more of the same, endless enemy waves that can be finished in less time than Lost in Nightmares.

Great concept. Terrible executive. The bad AI of the npc's, clunky controls, bullet sponge humans enemies, mediocre writing. Bad level design... I mean the list goes on. This game definitely got the score and dislikes it deserves. If you enjoyed it, good for you. But then dont complain when game studios release mediocre stuff like that. If anything Capcom should remake it, properly this time.

The Evil Within 2 is better than the first in nearly every way, but something that was so underrated about the first was when youbwere split from Kidman and you wouldnsee her occasionally throughout the game until you were reunited and in the DLC's as you played as Kidman you would see Sebastian occasionally throughout the DLC story. Was really cool and made me want to play through the main game and DLC again.

I have ALWAYS said the flaw with the two Outbreak titles was that they were tragically released one generation too early. Had they been out on the ps3/360 era, we'd be looking at a whole different Resident Evil right now... And a far better one since i am staunch and immovable in the belief that Outbreak 1 and 2 were the last TRUE Resident Evil titles and then 4 came along and ruined the series forever.

The gameplay is trash, the characters are dumb as rocks, and the story is one of the worse. It makes zero sense.

To me RE5 is like 1 bid mercenaries/Raid mode. And I love that. I agree about the lack of merchant and treasure upgrades and the limitations in control being dull things. But the action that is there is pretty fun. The AI for sheeva is TRULY horrible and it does waste your time and resources. Too bad you couldn't just turn it off.
