My hottest take, Brandon Sanderson is boring! For me his books are like a complex spreadsheet of plot points filled in to resemble a story. I call him Banjo Sandman bc he bores and annoys me. Smut gets repetitive bc it feeds off of itself and chases trends. Example they use the same few mythological characters instead of taking a more obscure character and doing someting creative. Also they lack detail where could make something more than the same scene but the dude has horns instead of wings. Other senses like taste are often overlooked. Luna Fury is my personal fav smut writer, her Taken by the Witch Queen series is great and I'm invested in the story.

Yay, you uploaded a long video and it was soo entertaining to hear other people's unpopular opinions🤩 I wish I had read more of the popular book series, like Shatter Me, Throne of Glass, The Cruel Prince, Acotar (I finished book 2 last month, so at least something 😂),... so that I could join in the conversation, but I'm getting there eventually😅 When it comes to smut though, I actually prefer clean romances. A few years ago it didn't really bother me in books but nowadays I can really do without it😅 I love it though that all of us have different opinions about this and all the topics mentioned in the video! That makes it so great to discuss them🥰

Hi there! I just want to say what a sweet soul you seem to be, you’re so sweet and gentle with your delivers of your opinions and I think that’s why I enjoy your videos so much. I wish I caught the chance to put in another opinion so I’ll just jot it down below! Great video as always! My unpopular book opinion is that I’m so tired of people hating on certain authors ( cough cough Colleen Hoover) I personally enjoy her books and it’s okay that others don’t obviously but to go out of your way to spread hate and hurtful thoughts about her and her writing I don’t think is okay. Us as readers have to take the good books with the bad but to just hate on someone who a lot of these people do not even know personally I think is a bad look for the book reading population. If you don’t like them or her just move on and read something else 🤷🏻♀️

This comment genuinely made my day 🥹💜 thank you so much!! That’s something I really strive for. I want to share why I loved something (book, movie, album whatever) and or why something didn’t work for me in a way that feels good to me. It’s also someone’s work, you know? They put a lot of themselves into something they created. As well as it’s someone else’s fave book too. I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum. I want to be as honest and kind about that feedback as possible so that it finds the books best audience (or helps a reader/author in any way). I love your unpopular opinion!! I feel the same way. I don’t love plenty of popular books or series but I try to give that feedback and move forward. That’s just what feels best for me.

This is to the person(s) that thinks ACOTAR is better than ToG, the person(s) that think Shatter Me is overrated, and the ones that think Powerless wasn’t it. Go ahead and sign me up for the newsletter, the club will meet 3 times a month, matching Tshirts will be provided. I have found my tribe. I can’t relate with The Cruel Prince girlies though. If you saw my comment about going through it in 2020/2021 and feeling disconnected because contemporary romance wasn’t it for me anymore and I didn’t know up from down, I remember randomly picking up The Cruel Prince in the fall time with such little hope. I never bing’ed (binged?) series at that time and I flew through that trilogy. I had the added benefit of not having TikTok marketing it to me as a romance though. I knew what I was getting into. Except the tail. I didn’t expect that.
@whitneywest35385 күн бұрын
This is for the person that doesn’t feel valid because you aren’t able to read as much. I use to read well over a 100 books a year. 2020 affected me different. Everyone was finding reading again and I couldn’t complete a book to save my life. I came out of it but I was no longer interested in the contemporary romances that I was reading 3-5 of a week. So my numbers still weren’t great because fantasy took me longer to digest and I was just reading longer books. I’ve only this year started showing myself some grace. I may only be reading a fraction of books compared to other readers but my page count is similar if not better. If you read, you’re a reader and your bookish journey is yours. It doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. I watch TBR videos and readathon content with all the prompts. I adore making TBRs. I’m slightly unhinged and I have multiple TBR jars. I have made a handful of Bookopoly game boards myself. So I make more than one TBR list every month and season. But at my core and all of the other places, I’m a mood reader. That’s right. I make TBR lists and then just read whatever I want to in the moment. Every month. Completely. Unhinged. I understand you want to be represented with what you’re seeing in the content you consume but those people are on their own journeys too. Reading can provide many things to many people. Entertainment, escapism, solace, education, comfort, hope, community, and it’s just good for a person’s health. If you’re going to take anything away from being a part of the book community let it be this. Other readers are rooting for you and your unique journey. It matters and you matter. The what, how, why of it all is yours and yours alone and you’re still one of us. You belong. You belong while doing an activity that is traditionally done solo. I hope everyone thinks about that because it actually blows my mind. We all do this thing that we don’t need anyone else to participate in with us for us to find enjoyment in it. Despite that fact, we still let it bond and unite us. ❤

Hi hi I was this person. Thank you for saying this. It can feel overwhelming with all the releases and trying to keep up. I want to be able to keep up, but starting to learn it's okay to not be. So many books, so little time! I have ADD and dyslexia, which definitely play a part in my reading speed. I want other slow readers to feel validated too, knowing I'm certainly not alone. I love all TBR videos and watch SO many. I just hope at some point some creators who read less post content in the future (I might want to one day) or to find them if they exist. All readers do matter, and representation for everyone is such a big thing in the book community that I would love to see these creators make content, even if it's quarterly TBR videos. 😊 Hope you are doing well and it means a lot for you to write so much for me (and anyone who feels similar). Thanks again!❤

@@kristinr4928 I’ve seen even big BookTubers get real and say they’re scaling back. A lot of readers have stopped putting stock behind setting the Goodreads Goal too. I’ve never had to live with dyslexia (I did watch one little girl in my life battle it) so I don’t know the ins and outs of it or if it’s different for each person. But I have seen the font on Kindle that I think is meant for people with dyslexia. Have you tried it? If you have, does it make a difference? I’ve always wondered if it works and how well. There’s always audio too. Audio is how some creators are able to achieve those outrageous numbers of books read in a month too. And if you want to be the change you want to see on here then you should absolutely do it. The landscape of BookTube has changed so much since I first started watching it. I don’t doubt the passion for reading these creators have but it is more of business for some of them now. I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing! I wish we all got paid to do the things we’re passionate about.

I’d love a book about the 25th quarter quell, cause I think there is an interesting look at inter community politics with the whole voting children in idea there, and it would be nice to have book without an already established winner that the audience knows about. It could really act as a commentary as the audience for the books being like the audience of the Captiol experiencing the games in real time.
