My curled/brown 'Miss Satomi' leaves started during our 111F temps in July. The tree is about 15 mo. in the ground (purchase at 12' height). I did give it extra water daily during those weeks. NOW those leaves are developing a white substance. New growth developed in later cooler temps still look great. I have a photo if there's someone I can send it to who might be able to tell me what to do?!? Please help!

Thank you for showing me how to not "murder" my crape myrtle. I am going to use his suggestions this winter when I trim my tree. Thank you.

JFYi, this is actually Aeroponics not hydroponics. This is because the roots sit in air and sprayed periodically with nutrients in water. Hydroponics would have the roots sitting in nutrient water.

As usual like any advice on the internet, the treatment has to be expensive, it always involves chemicals. There is a free organic option. Trim and cut it back the tree down to a manageable size. Keep the structure and shape of the tree branches to your preference and remove all the excess, infested branches and leaves. Now It basically looks like a skeleton with 10% of the leaves still on. Next step is to grab a ladder and a bucket of soap/bleach/detergent water with a rag and scrub the tree with hand. It gets dirty and messy (and humiliating too). I use swimming goggles to protect my eyes - - but after you are done the tree and you will be the happiest people. Do it in late August when the flowering is drawing to a close and the tree still has the time to grow back.

I love helping gardeners!!!! Spray when ever. Take a cup of dawn soap and mix with warm water in a 5 gal bucket. Ok you’re done! Trees love the soap and every bag worm will be deal. Kills spiders too. Peace and enjoy

I am noticing this problem here in North Eastern Connecticut. July was more like August this year. We'd had extended heat waves. It's also been a wet summer too. Hard to say, perhaps it's a combination of the two extremes. I've never seen this before.

I have like 5 pepper plants in one bed, none have flowered all summer. My other peppers all grew 1 pepper and now no sign of anymore. It took like almost 2 months for them to turn the green pepper into color. No idea what's going on lol. The ones with no flowers are like 5 feet tall

I brought one home from work because it looked so cute and hardy growing in the parking lot. It was about 5 inches tall then, now it's almost as tall as my fence! I'm growing a meadow with whatever flowers and I'm debating letting this go and just enjoying it. It's one of the most green items in my yard but it's also competing with my smaller flowers. I'm glad you showed it flowering because I was wondering what it would look like. Some natives and wilds aren't that showy and it isn't worth letting them do their thing. This one looks pretty showy though, I may let it go for the pollinators to enjoy and just cut the seeds and toss them at that stage. Anyway thanks for the info! It was hard to find any decent videos on this plant.

I wasn’t sure if my first thought got through but if you live on a busy street, they do absorb a lot of the noise in the dust that comes from all the cars. Goodbye.

These egg masses collect on the underside of my aluminum patio gazebo and the fan that hangs from it. I wipe them down and they’re back the next day. Where are they during the day so that I can eradicate them once and for all and what should I use to do so?

We have a large Live Oak tree that is about 80 feet tall and 3 feet in caliper. It was hit by lightning some years ago before we bought this house (5 years ago). Visible damage to the tree includes an area 2 feet by 5 feet that has no bark. Some of the exposed wood has surface rot down about 2 inches. The tree otherwise looks healthy. There was a large bracket fungi on the tree in this exposed area. The bark is trying to heal the wound but it will take many years. Is the tree salvagable?

These things started coming up in my mother-in-law's flower beds last year. She too😂 thought they were pretty. They grow faster than weeds, and spread like California wildfire. The stems are tough as wire and it's nearly impossible to pull the roots. We live in NE Louisiana. Be careful with these devils.

Help! I twisted/ braided the stems of my crepe myrtle sapling last year. Its about 10 ft with a few flowers at the top this year. What's going to happen to it as it grows? I have no idea why I did that.😢 (Over zealous. ) I heard one of your guests suggest cutting one stem each year at the root to create a multi- trunk over time. Pls advise. Ty!
