Ace of Wands had a villain called Mr Stabs who had an afterlife outside 'Wands' and went on to appear in an episode of the series 'Shadows' played by a different actor, and also appeared in an episode of kids show 'Dramarama' played by David Jason. Loved the theme tune to the Feathered Serpent, very reminiscent of Children of the Stones. "See what I say, say what you see...Otolme!" I seem to remember a Wizard type character saying. I also remember a kids series about time travel featuring a clock of some kind, this would be the early 70s, it had the motto "Time No Longer". Any ideas? ( it wasn't Timeslip, I remember that one!) There was also a great, creepy kids series called Escape into Night that scared the wits out of me, it featured big slowly moving monoliths with a single eye! Brr!

You can still get Fry's Peppermint Cream, although it isn't as widely available as it used to be.

I still have 2 bars of Caramac in the fridge. Anyone remember the Moro bar? Milk chocolate bar with caramel toffee and soft truffle like interior with small crispy pieces through it.

The thing I remember most about Texans was trying to chew them, you would attempt to bite through it but you couldn't so you would just clench your teeth and pull the bar away as hard as you could and it would then thin and stretch but doing this would cause half the chocolate coating to fall off.

Club biscuits were nice, I know they still sell them but they now paint the chocolate on and can't use the old slogan.

I worked at Sainsbury's when the Monster Munch Vanillia came out. They really were not popular with parents. However, out of curiosity, I bought some and they were actually quite nice.

Mum told me about those 5 flavour Fry's bars, by the time I came to the UK the peppermint was the only Fry's bar I ever found. However I'd simply settle for Cadbury's chocolate bars (especially their Crunchy bars) to return to their ORIGINAL recipe rather than the muck the US owners now palm off on people. And I've heard that the milk chocolate bar is to be discontinued due to lack of demand (probably due to the taste having changed).

Thanks Stu, some great bars there. Difficult to choose an all time favourite (possibly Bar Six) but, strangely, a Texan bar wasn't mine. Far too 'chewy' to be enjoyable! Funny how Nestle wanted the companies, but not the products, which then suddenly became too expensive to make. They have a lot to answer for.

Great as always these memory clips Stu. How about they bring back PROPER creme eggs. The chocolate is now not as tasty, the filling tasteless and they are 2/3 of the size of the ones from the 80's.

Not just chocolate bars per se, but I miss some of the old packaging and branding; Google 'old Aero packaging' for a quick hit of nostalgia if you're an 80s kid like myself! Also - the original can for cherry coke when it first released had such a cool design compared to the generic coke branding of today.

TEXAN bar, my favourite by a country mile. Stu you are cruel reminding me of the great chocolate bars of my youth. I would replace Nutty bar with Aztec any day. One thing about the Texan bar, I don't think i could eat them now i would have no teeth left by the time I finished one. Great video mate. How about one showing how much some of the existing bars have reduced in size over the years. Lets embarrass the manufacturers

They've stopped making Topics?! Bloody hell. I used to love them before I went vegan. Ooh, a vegan Topic, I'd buy that! I have fond memories of the Drifter. My school was basically four buildings separated by a couple of hundred metres: two secondary buildings, a sixth form and a leisure centre incorporating the swimming pool used for swimming lessons. Whilst there were no vending machines in the three main buildings, there were two in the leisure centre! Every break and lunch time there was a long queue for those two machines! If they hadn't sold before I got to them I'd either get a Drifter or a Twister (top-top, Twister's taste amazing straight from the freezer!). Drifters were lush though, I do miss them even though I wouldn't be able to eat one now. Secret's were pretty mint too, but too classy for the vending machine! I've literally never heard of a Texan before today. That advert is all kinds of cringe.

I have a vivid memory of going to a little news and sweet kiosk In the late 70s to buy a Texan bar with my nan, and next to the normal orange colour wrapped Texan bar was a red wrapped one that was labeled as extra chewy. I chose that one and remember my nan saying you'll never be able to chew it and she was right, it was too hard for me. I've searched many times and can find no evidence of it's existence but it's such a clear memory. I remember my nan saying "told you so" lol

As an adult, I don't have a particularly sweet tooth, but as a kid in the 70's ...... I remember Dalek Death Ray Ice Lollies, Lucky Bags, Sherbet Dips, Flying Saucers, Boot Laces, Curly Wurly, Caramac, Pink Panther Chocolate Bars, and Doctor Who Milk Chocolate! At 3 pence for a bar of chocolate, with Jon Pertwee on the wrapper, nobody can say the 70's were cheap! ... Although, I do remember going to town on the bus, and buying a bag of crisps for a few pennies! 3:05 ... Thieving git DIDN'T pay for his Drifter! ... Mind you, me and my mates used to nick sweets in the 70's too! 🤣 If Mackintosh's Mint Cracknel (tm) was contaminated with BROKEN GLASS, nobody would know the difference! 🤣 The Topic (tm) of this video, was lost chocolate bars! 🤣 Cadbury Bar Six (tm) was discontinued due to it causing obesity! ... People were eating Six Bars! 🤣
