Does the homemade lever change the torque applied at the end of the lever in comparison to using only the tool? I think maybe the homemade tool will compound the torque applied to the bolt.

Hello. 1. Keep throttle fully opened and spin engine few times until it it stops backfiring. 2. Recharge battery to maximum. 3. Make sure your fuel line is not knicked under tank. 4. Turn on choke and try to start it. Good Luck!

Take torx key, hammer it into stripped volt, and it should let go then. Oterwise, you will probably need a welding machine. Good Luck!

Здравствуйте , подскажите . У меня Aprilia sxv 550 запускается работает на холостых даю обороты глохнет , пробою резкими движением на газ дал отпустил разгазовывается но работают не стабильно и резко глохнет , подскажите куда смотреть и на что обратить внимание , сняли бак с другой подкинули не поменялось поменяли форсунки , датчики в дросселе нечего не меняется !

Not particulary. Mainly at my local dealer (he have what Italy have) and FB groups like: Aprilia XV Global, Aprilia SXV Supermoto Underground. Regarding bushings - only some leftovers in private hands. People are using some Kawasaki bearings which after small work can be adjusted to SXV cases.

Most are accessible, but some are hard to find, like 550cc cylinders or crank/case/rod bushings.

Nope. Engine was inspected, so I think it's a harness issue.

В общем поменял ротор , проводку и боковую крышку с магнетой и датчиком холло искра есть форсунки работают но не запускается

Привет, мой sxv 550 работал отлично я его заглушил и на следующее утро он стал плохо заводиться. После чего отключился задний цилиндр что делать ? Искра есть форсунки работают , иногда запускается но на газ откликается плохо, холостые и средние обороты не работают только самый верх

First, check Spark plugs - sometimes top cap is getting loose. Have washed your bike or drove in heavy rain?

@@levisikнет, ничего не происходило ) я перебрал двигатель , он успешно запустился , и я даже проверил раз 5 на запуск, и на утро он уже не завелся , поменял свечи зажигания , колпачки насвечники),поставил другой бак чтоб проверить давление , поменял форсунки и ничего не помогло

После долгих попыток он запускается и работает на переднем цилиндре, нажав на газ почти полностью он включает и второй цилиндр

@@levisikпоможете разобраться. ? Сегодня снова попробовал завести стреляет громко в глушитель , я снял крышку ротора и сам ротор чтоб убедиться в целости шпонки и все на месте и порядок зажигания должен быть ровным

I had 0,075mm clearance on the mains, worked just fine with OEM 10w60 heavy oil. Still wondering what clearance should be from the factory.

All this little adjustments can help a little bit if the engine is in good shape, but the main questions that most of us experienced are: Why it is quite easy to start cold SXV engine in summer then in winter time? Why it is easy to start the engine while it is hot no matter what season of year is? Reason why it is doing that is in OHC engine configuration, with hydraulic lifters to be precise. Hydraulic valve lifters are working with engine oil pressure and oil flow is limited with oil entry point of lifter. Without proper pressurizing hydraulic lifter there is no chance engine will work properly. Decompressors are also not doing their job releasing compression when lifters are not pressurized. If oil is thicker, it needs more time and pressure to adjust valve clearance then when oil is lighter. In this case thicker oil is Aprilia recommendend 10W60 and lighter oil subtitutes are 10W50 or 10W40. In comparison, 10W40 is 100% lighter in viscosity then 10W60 oil... On the other hand 10W60 has greater engine protection then 10W40, especially if used for racing purpose. For Europe cold winter and hot summer normal driving use try to use 10W50 in summer and 10W40 in winter and you'll see big difference in engine starting... I'm using this method for five years now with one starter and no starting issues... And to add one thing not related to this subject, change your in tank fuel filter yearly as possible or drain the fuel if not used for longer period of time, nowdays our fuel is shit with all this additives...

Unfortunatelly my friend, you are not right. It is indeed ohc engine, but there are no hydraulic valve lifters. I believe, that this race engine was designed just to be used during 10+ celsious degrees. Oil paths and mapping were not designed for it properly. Decompressors work fine if they are in specs. I saw engines with compression to low and to high... Of course velocity of oil makes a difference, but 10w60 is a must at this engine, because of low amount of oil (1,3L) and it is very easy to overheat oil which can cause damage to the internals. Kinked fuel line? It's not uncommon for the fuel line at the tank to bind up when setting the fuel tank back in place after having it up to service the air box...

This sounds exactly like my SXV does at the moment, and I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. Mine has got worse now and won’t run, it will fire up for half a second then cut out!

Thanks Much Man!! I've been looking for one for ages & JUST found an '07 SXV 450 near me for sale/trade with 2090 miles on it. Looks fairly clean - but has been stored outdoors so I have some concerns about the rubbers & a few other things. Low mileage though & doesn't appear to have been beat on or ridden hard or anything. I'm going to go & see it this week, & I'm hoping it's in good enough shape to work a deal on.

I had the same problem. After I got the motorcycle running once by pushing it, it ran normally. But I needed a really steep and long mountain.

Should'nt your throttle position be 4.5% for starting ? It also needs to be cranking @ 300 rpm before injectors will fire and before the 6 second timer.

Here I focus only cold start. For it, TPS should be set for around 10. RPM should show 400-500. Do problem is with crank sensor or harness

Yes. Its fine. From clutch basket. Those engines must remain above 2000rpm all the time once they're started :)

What should be the nominal level ? Which value is expected for the fuel pressure? Would you add this check on your list of points to be checked for SXV staring issues? You have a nice video about it.

The fuel pump relief valve may be slightly bypassing to to gumming from old fuel caused by the fuel sitting in the tank and fuel lines for a long period of time between running the engine. You can check this by pulling the pump assembly out and running it in a bucket and watching it and checking it opens and re-closes by blocking the fuel outlet. That will also blow any rubbish in the releif valve out. If that is too much to do first you could try draining the fuel and filling with some fresh fuel and fuel injector cleaner and runing it through.

Lean mixture, cant run on idle, low rpm cut off... Check your intake air leaks with brake cleaner spray.
