as a beginner in writing my only job here is to understand what people like in a first chapter with the comments they made😅

The second one definitely has more clear beats and emphasizes the moment. But now I also get why so many peiple find Amy annoying 😂 she acts like an immature mean girl in the second one. Ive only seen the greta version. And Amy doenst feel like a cartoonish villan she just seems like a little sister. I think the Greta version captures sisterhood while the second one captures Joe's journey

Personally, i find greta gerwigs lw better, based on the scene comparison.

I would have added a pending meeting with a literary agent or a publishing company - then the only copy gets destroyed.

A Wonderful Life is my dad's all time favorite movie. He used to watch it EVERY Christmas like it was a religious ritual when we were little. My mom bought him a special edition DVD back when DVDs were the newest hight of movie technology.

I believe that "maternal instinct" is a significant reason why Katniss from The Hunger Games is so lovable, and why other movies trying to emulate its success fell short. Her care for Rue, who reminded her of her sister Prim (whom she wanted to protect), made her much more relatable and empathetic, as did her love and concern for all the districts. Additionally, I believe the decision to cast Rue as a black girl was very smart, and the actress was perfectly cast. If Rue had been another white girl around Prim's age, Katniss's care for her would still make sense, but it wouldn't have had the same impact. By caring for Rue, Katniss saw beyond the different districts and embraced their differences, including race.

Man I’m so confused. I get it and not get it at the same time. There is so many terms that I’m trying to figure out, like goal, desire, want, motivation, misbelief, and need. Are some of these the same ? Are they different?

When you made that thumbnail, it just comes across as sexist, not gonna lie. Then I found out, you're a woman.😮

I'm still working on book one of my three novella series. It's a dystopian tale set in the near future about a young woman trying to track down superhumans and (re)form teams to stabilize a world that has all but collapsed. The things you're pointing out in this video are very helpful for a novice like me. First, I'm a man who's pushing sixty. I've never even attempted a book before. Even though I tend to be more emotional than many men I know, as i am a creative by occupation, this is still something I have to think about in my writing. It doesn't come natural for me. So think I'm going to take my prologue and rewrite it with these concepts in mind to see how it goes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 😁

Zuko from ATLA is the GO-TO for characters for me, espec his backstory! FEELS! SO damn good! His redemption arc is literally used as THE EPITOME of best redemption arc ever by SO many people! He's basically character GOALS! >:D

I've been sprinkling in my MC's physical description, so I'm really glad to hear that's how I SHOULD be doing it! lol. Also, the 'mirror thing' is SO true! LMAO! I always felt that was so awkward! Like, unless it's plot relevant somehow (which could be interesting!), nobody does that?? LMAO! This was a really great vid, as always! Thanks so much! <3

Not sure if this is a theme, but Princess and the Pauper retelling (possibly) with long lost identical twins who were separated at birth.
