Yea I agree with some, this video is very good for hyper extreme Soviet boxing. I was confused when google said Bivol was Soviet until I saw how he sets up combos. A very slick jab and constantly throwing one’s and twos with a mean left hook. The hook in this video looks more textbook then Soviet as they really emphasize that elbow pointed towards the ceiling rather than tucked to the body like textbook hooks

Doesnt this make the jab slower by going all the way back

Funny because its like dancing. You can either move your body. Or your can't. There's no one way to slip punches. Floyd proved that and i never liked his slips. Prince Naseem had a completely different way to slip It's about your body and ability. Not your style or forced mechanics

He also uses soviet hook especially going backwards, and he makes wonderful use of swivel jab. It can be hard to practice on a bag becsuse it works best when opponent is moving back /trying to predict a hook instead of the swivel jab. Great stuff and amazing rhythm!

He explains it perfectly. Watch Hamzah Sheeraz, who is 191 cm 72 kg. He deals with pressure fighters really well and makes it difficult for them to come inside.

His lead foot should be stepping into the jab, whilst the lead foot landing on the floor upon impact of the jab. Also whilst thrusting off the back foot. Good comparison with the difference in getting your punch back to guard and just leaving your face open for a shot, but more footwork needed.

The movement starts in the legs. TURN. YOUR. CORE. It's the rotation that gives it the whip / snap and let's you get behind the punch.

He's doing the simplest jab variation. A simple shoulder pop is enough, jab isn't supposed to be a knock out punch
