This is incoherent....interesting that you talk of US Empire, but keep stepping in it's shoes. British disease a lot of talking that 'kind of' sounds like you know what your talking about but but given the time....and critical thought just hollow. Listen Chalmers Johnson.....these are a study case in British inbreeding...curiosity.

Government? This is a private group that reviews websites content under certain criteria of shit starting (false info, adversarial -meaning trying to get people to hate people-, etc), they then submit their findings to the companies (who's ads are next to the articles) and explain their conclusions, and THE COMPANY CHOOSES if they want to disassociate. This isn't just about the right wing (I can discern you are right by other comments. Notice she also mentioned this is done to anti police articles, but the left understands what is happening and doesn't try to mislead themselves), but not only have more people and companies distanced from the right because they've turned more overtly bigoted, it's also that the right is EXTREMELY susceptible to outright lies and psuedoscience, many of times promoted by state intelligence agencies to agitate other populaces against themselves. So alot of the content getting the ads taken away are right because the right is more active propagating proven falsehoods.

I‘m a bit late, but this was a great conversation. I a sense one can maybe summarize: Kindleberger was proven right against Triffin, but with the emerging dominance of the Eurodollar system Friedman‘s more liberal approach of floating currency rates overcame Kindleberger‘s idea of a more collaboratively organized common world currency

Extreme Ultra hardcore defenders of U.S. global hegemony like John Ikenberry has always been completely ignorant of the world outside of West. In some ways, he is even more extreme and hardcore and more dangerous than the neo cons. The fanaticism of Ikenberry to defend U.S. global hegemony is disgraceful and disgusting. Don't even dare to open his mouth to utter a single word on the Israeli genocide in Gaza. And you want global south to join West to destroy Russia and China? Ludicrous and totally bonkers. Who is going to buy into this kind of drivel analysis of the world? This is like clown show.

This analysis of the "three worlds" is utter nonsense and total rubbish. This is typical of those hardcore defenders of U.S. global hegemony like John Ikenberry. The world in 2024 is divided between Western bloc and those outside of the bloc. There is no third bloc. Russia, China and global south all belong to the "outsiders" bloc. If you are in outsiders bloc, the West can come and kill and destroy you at anytime like what Israel is doing in Gaza. The Israeli genocide is completely supported by the Western bloc. Ikenberry don't even dare to touch the topic. It's basically the entire world against the West. That is the truth. That is the reality. There is no third bloc. There is no strategy of wooing global south to fight Russia and China and maintaining U.S. global hegemony. That is Ikenberry's ridiculous fantasy and really shows his total ignorance of global south. We are all coming to destroy U.S. Global hegemony.

"Global West, Global East" - all these garbage terms invented to divide and rule the world and serve U.S. global hegemony. Pui. Pile of rubbish. No, the reality is far worse than that. It's everyone against America and West to destroy U.S. global hegemony. Lol. Russia and China are but the most powerful ones to oppose U.S. EVERYONE in non West wants to destroy U.S. global hegemony. There is no divide here. There is no " global east" and "global south" that U.S. can play off against each other. They are one against U.S. global hegemony.

Does the liberal Order have a future? No future whatsoever. Ikenberry didn't even dare to touch on the topic of Israeli genocide in Gaza. Someone directly asked him the question and he avoided it. His cowardice and moral bankruptcy reflects the fraudulent nature of the liberal order drivel that he selling. There is no future whatsoever for the "liberal order". None. Zero. Nil. No one buys it except for some white people in the West. It's just white people talking amongst themselves when they talk about liberal order. Outside of that white circle, it is nothing but total joke. What kind of future can there be in such a case? None whatsoever. Kaput.

Too naive to say that world is divided into three. Too naive and self serving for West. The world is divided into two. Those that are part of Western bloc and those outside of western bloc. Those outside of western bloc can be further defined as those who openly come out to oppose U.S. global hegemony and those who prefer to be more passive. All are against U.S. global hegemony. The only difference is whether they prefer to openly oppose or passively oppose. That is the more accurate view, not this three world drivel as stated by Ikenberry. That is total nonsense.

The world is not divided into three. It is divided into two. Western bloc and those outside of that bloc. There is no dividing line between Russia, China and global south, they are all outside of western bloc. China sees itself as part of global south. The fact is that entire world is united against West. On the issue of ending U.S. global hegemony, there is no dispute whatsoever between south, Russia and China. No one wants to be U.S. running dog. You think being U.S. running dog is fun?

This is very interesting. John Ikenberry, the so called "liberal", tried to avoid the question of the Israeli genocide in Gaza. John Mearsheimer, the so called amoral realist has openly come out and said that Israel is committing genocide. Ikenberry didn't even dare to talk about the Israeli genocide. This shows the total bankruptcy of the "liberal order" that Ikenberry is selling. It is dead. No one in global south buys it. It is complete and total joke.

Ukraine is like that kid that others dare to do something they don't want to do them self's. Western powers (USA) made big promises which they wore never going to stand by if things go bad. Play with fire you will get burned. Has not 1 person in power in Ukraine look at USA's track record. Every war USA has entered into since Korea has been nothing but disaster for that nation. Don't feel sorry for Ukraine but i do feel sorry for the people that wore not delusional about winning war with world power nation as they knew there was not a chance in hell for Ukraine to win against Russia no matter what you believe the reality is what you see now. West will wash it's hands of Ukraine pretty soon and all that will be left is failed state and i do mean State as it will not be a country anymore. Thank Zelensky as he will not be there but on some sunny island on 1 of his Yachts will hundreds of millions of $ in his account while people that are left in former Ukraine will be starving and dying off as there is no possibility to repopulate the state.

What a waste of time! This is what is typically referred to as an 'echo chamber'; where people come together to affirm their per-existing bias towards an issue. A series of softball questions followed by answers that everybody agrees with 100%; nothing gets challenged nor debated, no difficult choices considered and at the end all the participants go back with a great sense of accomplishment.

Nixon abandoned the gold standard in 1971 due to a problem in coordinating economic policies. So it was not because the US was financially exhausted by spending on policies to counter communism, such as the Space program, the Great Society program, and the Vietnam War.

The US national debt is more than $33 trillion, with 38% of it held by foreign entities. The US also has $38 trillion in unfunded Medicare liabilities and $17 trillion in unfunded Social Security liabilities. The US dollar is the dominant reserve currency, backed by its perceived strength, allowing the US to print unlimited dollars as long as the world maintains trust in it. The US dollar is the backbone of US power, and any actions that undermine confidence in the currency threaten to destabilize its position of dominance. Each unilateral sanction imposed by the US risks damaging the stability and credibility of the US dollar, leading to dire consequences for the nation's power and influence. The US is the only country actively undermining the strength of the US dollar. The freezing of Russia's $300 billion currency reserve by Western governments may lead countries to reconsider investing their funds in US Treasury bonds and finding ways to reduce their use of the US dollar. A significant portion of US dollars is held outside the US, estimated at 60-70% of all US dollars in circulation, due to its status as the dominant reserve currency and wide use in international trade and finance. The one trillion dollar trade deficit of the US is a consequence of being the reserve currency, as a strong dollar makes it difficult for US businesses to export goods and services while simultaneously making it easier for other countries to sell to the US. Countries are expending resources and labor making goods and shipping them to the US in exchange for green pieces of paper. The US is sending back mostly empty containers. The US budget deficit is $1.38 trillion in 2022 which must be paid for by selling more Treasury bonds. The interest on this debt is greater than the military budget. To pay the interest on its debt, the government sells more Treasury bonds, leading to a cycle of increasing debt. The US printing of dollars has been exporting inflation in other countries for decades, but will eventually increase US inflation. Raising interest rates to fight inflation decreases consumer and business spending, increases the trade deficit, and higher interest payments on government debt. Other countries will respond to the US raising of interest rate by raising their interest rate, risking global recession. The Plaza Accord addressed this issue in the past, but it will be challenging to implement such measures now. A well-run country collects taxes to fund essential services and infrastructure. In the US political system, wealthy corporations and individuals can lobby for tax breaks. The shortfall in funding for the US government has reached $33 trillion. Instead of collecting taxes from wealthy corporations and individuals, the government pays interest to them. Banks hold Treasury bonds for their safety, liquidity, regulatory compliance, and potential profitability. When interest rates on Treasury bonds rise sharply, the decrease in bond values reduces liquidity and makes it harder for banks to raise cash quickly. This causes depositors to lose confidence, triggering a bank run. In response to the current bank run, the government is issuing Treasury bonds to raise funds to compensate depositors for any lost funds. There are $19 trillion in deposits in US banks. The estimated unrealized loss on US banks' financial assets is $1.94 trillion, while the total size of their equity is $2.1 trillion. SVB had taken a $15 billion loss, while their capital is $16 billion. Around 2,315 of the 4,800 banks are currently sitting on assets worth less than their liabilities. It's a systemic issue. A similar issue is being played out with risker Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) valued at $12 trillion. The new Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) helps prevent discounted bondholders from taking losses when they have to sell them urgently. The BTFP accepts discounted bonds at face value to be used as pledges for loans to inject more money into the economy. Risking more inflation. It's a Ponzi scheme. Ponzi scheme cannot taper. We reached the can and there is no more road.

I had to stop on min 13 for a moment. Did they read any books from Russians after then 2nd world war, because all the answers are there. What you mean the fall of the soviet union was a bad thing to them? All eastern block and the rest of the soviet union had their lowest moments economically after 1985 and the rest of the communist era. It is the biggest plague in human history and all those countries were at their lowest. Eastern Europe lost 50 years of development. Oh the Russians went in space and had nuclear bombs so that means they were strong? Russians or communist party?

Characterizing a population that doesn’t embrace hateful Russophobia as evidence of ‘malign Russian hybrid war’ is ridiculous and insulting.
