He was old enough that we were just cleaning with soap and water. You can order a water package for peace of mind too.

The passport thing is only an issue for Skagway and Haines, where the nearest commercial airport is in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Otherwise, there are domestic airports that service Seattle in Juneau, Ketchikan, Gustavus, Sitka, Wrangell, Petersburg, Cordova, and Yakutat.

Omg the cinnamon bread! Our first time there are people kept saying did you get the cinnamon bread you have to get the cinnamon bread., and in my mind I was like yeah, you know I do like cinnamon okay but I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon bread. But I caved and got the cinnamon bread I literally sat down ate the entire thing. This is unlike anything I've ever had in my life so seriously get the cinnamon bread. It is definitely not overrated

We had a group of 21 people and EVERY thing got screwed up. The keys to the room, the dinner packages, the added amenities we purchased before we left. The customer service was atrocious. They had no way of resolving any of our issues while on the ship or even prior. Our rep, Cory, kept telling us that things were going to be fine once we got on the ship and that couldn't have been further from the truth. The staff at the dining hall and cleaning service were fantastic and so helpful - however Norweigan's customer service in general was horrific. If you could imagine how much money we spent bringing 21 people on the ship to have customer service hang up on my mother (the one coordinating the trip) after spending 3 hours trying to fix the things that THEY screwed up. Also the kids HATED the Splash Academy and we couldn't leave them more than twice because they disliked it so much. Very disappointed and not worth the money.

That's all very good insight. Sorry to hear the customer service reps weren't able to resolve the issues. We also experienced some issues with accounts and balances getting mixed up between family members and different staterooms. Were there any specific things about Splash Academy that are worth mentioning? It's not something we hear too much about in the way of reviews.

dress codes when it comes to shorts are so weird

NCL has a pretty relaxed dress code. They do their best to specify in the restaurant description or on signage outside the restaurant what the expected attire is. Shorts are usually ok with a fee exceptions. That varies widely by cruise line though.

We were on the joy last week. I found that the staffing was much better. I don’t gamble so the casino doesn’t interest me. Multiple bartenders at each bar. I am sorry that NCL stopped the. Broadway shows. I did not see the main show . The ship was really crowded which we expected as school is out . Food was excellent. Staff was phenomenal. Did not use internet. Stayed off the grid. Really loved that. The Beatles show was really good. Observation lounge is the best.

Glad to hear the staffing has improved! I'm wondering if they adjust staff levels seasonally. We're also not interested in gambling so generally stay clear of the casino but do love a good show. Hopefully they bring back some quality theater productions.

I did back to back Alaska cruises. A week on NCL Bliss which returned on Saturday to Seattle and next day I got on Encore for another week. Slightly different itinerary but I enjoyed it all. I travelled inside cabins to keep it affordable. Balcony cabins are SO overpriced during summer but fine if you want to overpay.

With that much time in Alaska I'm sure there was plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the Observation Lounge and other public spaces on those ships. Those views are what make an Alaska trip so breathtaking for us, wherever you get them!

We personally found the show to be so fun and captivating that anyone will find themselves laughing and having a great time regardless of group size. As for the VIP experience itself, we're not the type to book something like that for ourselves individually either. The live music was nice and the meet and greet was a nice add but there ended up being a good bit of time to just hang out in the VIP area and drink/chat.

We've had our cruise booked since 2022, and it will finally be here in 21 days! My husband, son, and I have watched a lot of your videos and they've been very helpful. This is our first cruise. I'm really happy to hear you saw so many whales! That is one of my biggest reasons for wanting to visit Alaska. 😊

Especially on the Joy we'd say if you want some shade during the day claim the chairs on the main pool deck early (9 am). If full sun is more your style you can probably wait a little longer and claim some chairs on one of the higher decks.

Tip... before you leave, get your sponge wet, douce your sponge in the dish liquid, let it dry out completely, cut it into fourths, and use one piece to wash your cups/ dishes. No having to worry about liquids and TSA. Just toss the pieces into a ziploc baggie. My 1 sponge has lasted multiple cruises.

I like the Joy but my favorite is the Escape. The Joy I’ve been on twice it’s backwards everything is flipped around compared to the Breakaway class.Nice review 👊🏼

As a frequent visitor to Dollywood, I really enjoyed seeing that you guys enjoyed the park for many of the same reasons I do. The tip about where to stay was the exact same conclusion we've come to. The math just makes sense to stay at one of the resorts. We've stayed at both, and Heartsong is the way to go.

Hey guys, love the videos! We just got back from an Icon cruise, and have the Allure booked later this summer. I'm wondering, since it's heading for a refurbishment, how old or worn out did you think the ship felt? Obviously it's going to feel different from a brand new ship. Just trying to manage expectations! Thanks!

It'll be more noticeable after the Icon (that ship looks AMAZING). But the only thing we thought felt extra dated were the rooms. We had never been on a ship like this before so it all seemed pretty fabulous to us 😆 Have a great time!

If you want one on embarkation day, head there as soon as you get on the ship. On sea days, I'd say before 9am.

How many suitcases did you have to bring for this much clothing? Just the shoes for one person was probably already half of a 28 inch suitcase. I’m packing and I plan to bring just 1/3 of what you brought but for 2people , things are already overflowing the 2 suitcases (1 28 inch and 1 25 inch).

I think we each had one large suitcase and one carry-on size suitcase. It was definitely a more difficult packing challenge because a lot of the clothes were heavier and took up space. Packing cubes helped though.
