It really shouldn't take a genius to realize that it's not just because a certain place contains more firearms, that there will automatically be more firearm related homicides; it is usually the opposite, given the criminals are never looking for a fight, but for an easy victim, making gun-free zones pointless. But then again, it's easier to blame the problem on the guns themselves, and issue a ban on them (thus, causing criminals to be emboldened by the fact that they aren't going to give their guns back to the govt, and now knowing that the probability of a citizen with a firearm that can stop them is just about 0%), than it is to fix social and socio-economic problems.
