I have had some tipped over for a few days and they were ok. I actually had one tip this past winter but I saw it happen and got it back together asap. They were very strong this spring and didn’t seem effected. I bet you didn’t lose much brood or anything. If other bees didn’t rob them out they wouldn’t be too bothered. They just go on and try and survive regardless what happens.
@sonofone1-263Bees5 күн бұрын
They have quite a few that don't want to head back into the hive for some reason. This is my first time dealing with this issue.
@user-wf8gu7mt7d5 күн бұрын
@@sonofone1-263Bees yeah I’ve seen it before after moving a hive 4 feet when they pile up on the ground and then maybe some die at night time. If they are not bothering any people then the colony can afford the loss. They look pretty strong. You probably won’t even notice a population drop. Some people will set an empty box in that space and set on top of the hive every night. I wouldn’t. They almost always find the hive before dark but not always and it’s not normally tons of bees lost. Maybe a quarter pound of bees tops.

Good job putting them back together. I need to check mine after work. Big storm last night. Either a small tornado or straight line winds.
@sonofone1-263Bees5 күн бұрын
No storm for these girls, just rotting wood was the problem.

Just got my first extractor in about a week ago, cant wait to use it. JMHO but the whey you are using yours is probably smarter than putting on longer legs The reason is if the legs are on the floor the spot welds that attach the legs to the tank will likely break because of the vibration the bigger tanks are heavier and can withstand that vibration. just my thoughts so take with a grain of salt LOL Thanks and keep the vids coming.
