Chains duller than a ducks dick or you didn't knock down ur rakers 😅 and she's running leaner than Codeine , but yes a flat face bark box makes a huge difference if it's jetted properly.

I got a used x390 , wanted something to cut grass and snowblower with. Was going to buy a new a new x350 but the x390 was near me and still under warranty. It’s more than I need for grass cutting my yard isn’t too large. An x500 would be way above my needs and for the extra $$$ couldn’t justify the extra cost. Both the 300 and 500’s are well built machines that serve peoples particular needs for many years. . I didn’t want a Home Depot Deere and need to deal with issues in 2 years.

Hey man question I just got the new 500 and so I’ve heard people say to put a quart run it for a min then add the rest is that how I should do it or just add the full 2 and is it necessary to fill the oil filter or can I leave it dry

Pros and cons of bypassing the plugged up muffler of all the EPA baffles. Pros. Better throttle response. Increased power/torqe. Heat released faster= longer life of saw. Cons. Louder.

Lots of rude people on here. I have a ms261cm and a little ms170 that I use around the property. Both have been very good saws, proving, at least to me, that even in their cheapest offerings, Stihl takes pride in their workmanship. The 170 usually starts in 3 to 4 pulls, and the 261 in 4 or 5.

I think some of us should consider where we are going to be cutting at. Cutting in the city vs cutting in the forest. The noise doesn't matter in the forest, but in a city, big or small, too much noise can get too many complaints. But if your running a big wood chipper while cutting in the city it might not be an issue either way. 🤔 Im in the category of recreational use, so "need" of a saw isn't really there anymore. I just love a good pro saw. So my limited use and short run time of my saw in the city may not annoy my neighbors enough to complain about the noise. My point is regardless of gains you might get, which I believe really come with a combination of mods along with the exhaust mod, location and how long you will be cutting might be a more important consideration for some of us to take into account before making mods that add to the noise levels. I've heard that the bark box increases the noise levels more than needed to accomplish the increased flow due to its design. But I have no first hand knowledge, so I can't say that that is for sure true or not. Logically it should be true since you are losing half the volume of space inside the muffler. That extra space inside the muffler has more of a noise dampening effect before the exhaust leaves the muffler. Im sure the bark box could be changed to create that volume of space inside the the muffler and it would lower the noise without losing the better exhaust flow. 🤔 Great video. 😎👍

Yes....with a bit of modification.....I set up a 361 by using just the stock rear muffler housing of a 362 [2piece] then welded two nuts on bottom corners [this is where 2 bolts hold the lower part of muffler on a 362 to the case] then i fabricated and welded a front lower support flange on to front of BB to mount onto stock support bolt hole [on 361] for stock muffler. Sweet mod !

It's a C model saw, ur not going to gain anything. You can port it put exhaust and everything and you won't gain much. The computer will only allow so much fuel and air no matter what you do. If you want a hot saw stay with carb or leave it stock.

On an earlier video of yours you had a 3-4 second difference on two different cuts using the same saw so technically these results are in your margin of error. Statistically you need a larger sample size. Having said that most of us know the smaller bar will cut a hair faster, not because of drag like many suggest but because the chain weighs a little more and a centrifugal mass is tough on hp. The reason it isn’t dead is because a spinning chain is thrown away from the bar so the drag on both is on the same spinning tip. The drag on a lubricated drive link that is undersized to the rail is very minimal. Personally it’s long bars for me. It’s worth it for the extra reach but unless I’m cutting redwood, or some other thick bark tree, I’m not a fan of the big dogs on a 60cc saw. The additional fulcrum makes binding the saw to easy and that’s tough on the clutch. I save the larger dogs for 70cc and up saws that have excess power for what I’m cutting. But that’s just me. No reason to tell another grown man what to do 👍🏼

I think with 3-4 second difference in cut times with the same muffler, no conclusions can be made. Having said that, I’m not a fan of obnoxiously loud saws but in today’s epa mandates, it’s probably necessary. Not to make more power but to keep the saw as cool as possible. 362’s aren’t really hot rod saws and I think have enough cooling but I believe a free flowing exhaust is necessary on a 562. 👍🏼👍🏼

How reliable/durable are the electronics in the saw, I mean if I work in wet conditions will it affect the saw and can’t the wires get damaged in heavy working conditions or vibrate lose? I find it a very interesting saw and I’m planning to eventually start running stihl but I have to be careful where I put my money in because I can’t afford to buy something that is less reliable as I need it to be. The "C" is a model designation meaning comfort. You're just timing the a secondary starter spring to trick people. Have fun with the $100 plus repair bill when you break that recoil
