The late night talk show is an antiquated concept. I wasn't crazy about Carson (yeah, I'm that old), I liked Arsenio's 1st run, hated Jay Leno, Fallon and Kimmel I didn't like before they moved to late night. I could tolerate Letterman, but I don't like Conan or George Lopez. Honestly the Jon Stewart Daily Show with Stephen Colbert behind him was about as good as it got in the last 20 years...streaming has made regularly, scheduled terrestrial television essentially useless...late night television included.

I really miss 19.10 (ik it's still available on yt but it's not spotify) the synths and creepy ending. Ngl to be hunted is also amazing

Bro said 3.15.20 is CG's best album like Because the Internet isn't a multimedia masterpiece

the new intro is bussin, the tracks got polished up real nicely, and sure the transitions are gone, but honestly the pros overweigh the cons by a lot

I’m grateful for this version… he literally finished the 3.15.20 project.. I’m playing ATAVISTA all day, idgaf what y’all say.

The Pete Holmes show had incredible skits. He should do a pure sketch comedy show like Key and Peele

I found your channel from H3 and have enjoyed a bunch of your content, I was so excited to find this! My Dad passed away a week before lockdown (unrelated to COVID, he had a stroke in recovery from heart surgery). A month later, the Midnight Gospel saved me from myself. I'm an only child and the last remaining member of my family now at 32. Every single episode found a way to worm its way into a heart that didn't want to accept the world was going to keep turning without the people I love on it. It helped me to accept the gift of grief. Being able to appreciate every moment no matter how mundane, and to be grateful for the time that I get with the people I love. It taught me to be a lot less hard on myself. You've encapsulated my sentiments about this piece of work so precisely. Fantastic job as always, and thanks to anybody who read this far.

ah thanks for watching and sharing your story. my mom was diagnosed with cancer a month after the midnight gospel came out and she passed away like 9 months later. that last episode hurts a lot. its a really beautiful show and I hope netflix will let it free for someone else to pick it up. I hope you find fulfillment to make your life happy and meaningful

@@tallskeleton The last episode gets me every time no matter how many times I've seen it. Losing a parent is a completely different kind of deep, lifelong grief. Watching somebody you love lose their battle with cancer or something I hope I never see again. I also hope Netflix gets their dirty little paws out of it. You can tell it was made with a lot of passion and care, and it would be a shame to see that potential (and jobs for animators) fall by the wayside.

Time is sang in a deeper tone from Both CG and AG. That was not cool. So I assume the whole thing is a departure and an unnecessary one at that. Wasn't any need to adjust it. I thought this was a new album, can y'all stop saying it's a new album? That's misleading

Nah i disagree, Atavista and Human Sacrifice are way better songs than the intro song on 3.15.20, why go to the party and feels like summer. I'm glad he cut those songs from the album and he probably feels the same way, that's why he did it in the first place.

Atavista just feels a lil too corporate. It definitely feels like he chose to play it safe instead of indulging in what made 3.15.20 so iconic

The only songs I thought he improved were final church and sweet thang. The rest , especially why go to the party and big foot little foot are now ruined for me

I will admit that I had the unpopular opinion in thinking 3:15:20 was a masterpiece (especially while tripping) but the fact that 33.22 and “why go to the party” were literally both In my top 5 for the album hurts. Not to mention that I thought the coolest part and its biggest selling point was that it all ran together like one big song! I think Anavista is better commercially and will be accepted a lot more then 3.15.20 was, I only hope he re releases it on streaming a yr down the road or something.

That transition into To Be Hunted was absolutely butchered. I find myself consistently going back to listen to the old 2 songs just to fill that void when I listen to Atavista.
