yes the fitment of the suspension balls is normal, even on the 1/10 scale. this is so they can rotate, there is no socket as much as there is a tubular hole fitted to a ball so it can pivot.

The SG pinecone comes with oil filled dampeners. Keep that in mind because they will fit all of those vehicles. However... If you apply grease to the inside of the shock tube, it will slow down the bounce ..aka rebound. Plus, leaks will be almost non-existent unless you're driving in the armpit of hell. All of them are great car in their own ways. Not one has a bunch of suspension travel. I hope that helps.

Sort of... It is a 1/25 scale plastic model kit by AMT. Tower hobbies and Amazon had the same kit. It might be the same vendor for all I know. It is custom in a way. I cut the ..what I am going to call the upper chassis I half. This part has all 4 wheel fender flares together as one part. Kinda like a chassis. Then, I extended it visually to match the wheel base of my vehicle under full spring compression. Lowest ride height. To help hide the seam, I made a toolbox / storage box. This proved useful for the all in one esc. Some custom paint that you do not see yet is still in the works. Mostly because I'm very busy at work. Another video I hope to get made Sunday. Tomorrow. For further details.

Nice head to head comparison. There are many knock off companies that do deliver on body detailing and lighting. However, many of them are lacking in the electronics and mechanical areas. Axial has a tremendous advantage here in it's after market support. The upgrade for motors, gears, axles, shocks, etc are endless. And while some of the upgrades may work with the knock off, many of them just wont. I think they are both good choices depending on where you want to go with the hobby. Cheers, I subbed.

Thank you for all the kind words. I agree with the electronics and mechanical bits sometimes being less than satisfactory. I wish I had a deadbolt to compare it against for the shorter wheel base. Either way, I did get that one to intentionally modify. The very first thing will be the body. I got a 1934 Ford truck model kit in 1/25 scale. Too short. So, it will need to be cut stretched and modified to fit the chassis. Stay tuned.

I think, that the place where the suspension to the frame would break when the car have a load and go a bit rough roads, I'd add some reinforcement to it like a thick wire or something a bit sturdy enough and durable for it.
@116andsmallerrc2
@116andsmallerrc2 6 ай бұрын
You are correct. The chassis is very weak at this point in construction. Once the metal body gets bonded back to the chassis, this shouldn't be an issue. Unknowns... I hope it's not fast. I hope the gears hold up. I hope the drive lines don't snap. I'm looking for a realistic drive experience in a RC, that would represent the average street 4x4. I don't think it's too lofty of a goal, outside the gears and drive shafts. We will see.
@116andsmallerrc2
@116andsmallerrc2 6 ай бұрын
Let me add some clarification to the links on the differential. Most RC cars come set up at ride height with full extension. However, if you look at a monster truck, the front differential and rear differential links are parallel to the chassis, meaning there are flat and level for the most part. The drive shafts are at their smallest points. So, zero degrees to the horizon sitting still. Most of us RC enthusiasts will be setting up our links and / or drive shafts for full extension to make room for compression. The drive shaft is getting smaller.

Something to take away. The brushless versions are a better way to go if you plan on upgrading. Called the "Pro." In some cases. If you get the brushed and decide to go brushless...consider the purchase of a new esc, transmitter, motor, and servo. Be sure to read the item description box on anything you purchase.

@@daddyclubrc The Camaro is a custom build .(Newbrighte toy rc.) In its original condition, the Newbright Camaro is terribly slow. After comparing the track width between the A242 and the Camaro, I realized I could cut the chassis in half and stretch it, and it would work perfectly, which is making it faster. So, in reality, the car's not really that big. I just made it bigger.

I have a similar motor that has the shaft extending out both ends. I think it was in a helicopter my son crashed and destroyed. I soldered a Losi micro-t connector onto it. Anyways, if you used one like that you would have to reverse the internals of something front or rear to make all the wheels spin the same direction. Literally the only reason I kept it was to make an AWD and haven't done it.😅

In this particular case the electronics come from a "mini Q" single-cell lipo power vehicle. After the servo went bad, I replaced the servo with a wltoys 9 gram 5 wire and had to swap the connectors. It's working. A 130 sized motor, for power, is used. A crown gear and motor pinion from a slot car are used. This is my opinion, appears to be the perfect combination for this small of a vehicle.

This truck started off Life as a diecast model. One day I end up having a extra flight board from a helicopter. I decided to modify the static model into an RC truck. So I turned it into a diecast drifter. The downside to using a helicopter flight board is there is no reverse. Now it sits here with a combination of the original plastic chassis from the static model and a custom made aluminum chassis to hold all the suspension components and axles. Springs are custom and the axle mounted servo is also custom. Steering is done with a 9g servo. I had first modified some aftermarket metal drive shafts for a 1/16 wpl by shortening them up. This put everything in a slight bind, not being able to extend and contract. Now I am using drive shafts from a axial 1/24 scale crawler... still had to modify its length. After breaking one u joint, I decided to make one out of brass, and it appears to be working better than the original.
