Fun to watch, but full of errors... The Torino Cobras 429 was not a Boss, You had a base 429, a 429 CJ and a 429SCJ.. 429 SCJ had solid lifters, and yes the Thunderbolt was only built as a track car, not street legal... Yes, get the facts right

I agree with many commenters that the amount of errors is a bit too much. Most of them about the Boss niner. Almost all Boss 429 motors went into Mustangs while just 2 went into Cougars. Any Torinos were non Kar Kraft cars. The Boss 429 was indeed a Hemi but was shrouded on both sides of the chamber. Machine off the shrouding and you had a full hemi chamber. The plug location part you got right. Both engines were stout but factory rating as presented were way low. In Racing trim both would easily hover in the 550-600 hp range. The Boss was far more restricted for the street for liability, reliability and the rise of emission concerns where as the Mopar Hemi was a very old design and built when emissions weren't as big of a deal. Excellent topic, but the research is annoyingly flawed. Would have been nice to feature the 427 SOHC which was also a Hemi, also rare and so strong it was banned from NASCAR to prevent escalation of the deviation from "Stock" motors.

At about 7:15 there is a factually incorrect statement that needs to be cleared-up. The subject is Number 4, the 1970 Torino Cobra. The narrator states that this car was powered by the SAME engine as the BOSS 429 Mustang. Quote:It was powered by the same 429 cubic inch V8 found in the BOSS 429 Mustang..." That is PATENTLY INCORRECT!!! The engine in the BOSS 429 was the NASCAR engine with semi-hemispherical heads. The Torino Cobra came with the 429 Cobra Jet or 429 Super Cobra Jet NOT the BOSS 429. Although the 429 CJ, 429 SCJ, and the BOSS 429 shared the same 385 series big block, the CJs and the BOSS were decidedly different engines because of the different heads. I believe that this fact should be corrected and emphasized. Thank you.

Thank you for your video. In the future please have someone who was alive during this era proof your content. Several years from now kids will cite videos like yours as proof that such vehicle as a 1969 Barracuda was readily available with a factory installed 426 Hemi. Sorry to say, it was not. Perhaps you're thinking of the famous exhibition drag car "Hemi under Glass" as seen most recently on one of Jay Lenos excellent videos when the vehicle rolled over with him and the driver aboard. So much for the vehicles light weight and excellent handling you stated. The 69 Barracuda formula "S" was available at any Plymouth dealer with an excellent 383 which made it a fun car for doing burnouts but not a well balanced performer like the GTO or the SS 396. Back then getting a 426 Hemi in any Mopar was a very expensive option. Much like the "Hellcats" of today. The engine was indeed very powerful but it was also very heavy as was it's very stout supporting running gear. Fuel mileage was always single digit and around town drivability wasn't great. A single carb 440 was a much cheaper way to go fast in a Mopar. Again please do you research and have an "old timer" like your grandfather verify your work. Please do this for the sake of the children!!

I used own a 2012 Mustang Performance Package 3.7 V6 when Ford said it had 305 hp at the crank but Ford screw up this Species all of these models always put out on a dyno these cars would put out 308 to 309 hp to rear wheels and my car put out 308 to the wheels which that meant that motor was putting out about 345 hp to the crank. This Mustang weight in at around 3800 plus lbs and had a 3.35 gear ratio in the rear and back with 6 speed manual transmission and ran the times of 3.7 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile time of 13.7 and still got a consistent 31 mpg on the highway highway and it had all of handling goods under the car and was rolling on 9 spoke black and polish wheels that were 19 x 8 with 255 40 V rated tires on it. It beat down every stock V8 up to the 4.6 L and it was only 3.7 V6 Ford stop this model in 2 nd year of production and it was stepping on the V8 s and the new up coming 4 banger with turbo charging and could beat even there highest hp 4 banger motors and boy Ford really screw up that motor it is now being in a big lawsuit against Ford. Just imagine a 3.7 L with a super charger on it or even a turbo on it would get great gas mileage and performance at the same time and The EV cars and trucks are not the answer

The '71 SC/360 was launched at the same time as the Sportabout wagon which was far and away the most successful Hornet model and would be built as the Eagle wagon until 1988. People didn't think of AMC for muscle cars but they had a high station-wagon take rate since the Nash Rambler days. They also had the compact wagon market to themselves just as the midsize ones got HUGE and right before the gas crunch. It would be 5 long years before the Big 3 reentered the segment, first Chrysler with the '76 Aspen-Volare then Ford and GM with the Fairmont and downsized A-bodies for '78.
