Hey Chris, I love watching you videos. I know I am late to the party but how would I develop an app that can be viewed and edited by two users from different iPhones on different networks? So instead of the server only being accessed by devices on the network of the IP address that was seen in the video, how would I create a server that can be accessed by any iPhone in which the app is downloaded on? (Sort of like "shared notes" application) Thanks!

Hey Chris, I love watching your videos! I know I am pretty late to the party but how would I go about developing a server to xcode connection that you can access using any iPhone in witch the app is downloaded on? Not just devices on the same network as that IP address. (Kind of like if this was a "shared notes" application with another user)

I'm using a MacBook 12 inch 2017 and am unable to install Xcode, which requires MacOS 14 or later. My OS is limited to OS Ventura 13.6.7. Is there any other way for me to install Xcode?

Hi Chris, Good video, as a fledging developer, I agree with your summary. I am looking forward to checking out Swift Assist, because I think it may help with something I find difficult - navigating Apple APIs. It seems to me that it may be contextual enough to give me choices on properties and methods to choose while I'm right in the middle of building something in Xcode. We'll see.

Thanks Chris for the video! Question: If a user signs up for a recurring subscription at a certain price and the developer decides to change the price in the future, will the user automatically be charged the new price once the change is made?

one minor correction Chris, on the poll you mentioned iPhone 15, but it’s actually only the Pro and Pro Max models that are getting AI. Even the regular 15 is getting left out

Correct me if I am wrong, but according to what I have read, Apple Intelligence is done on device if it is small scale and according to apple they are not keeping any data and it never leaves your device (take that as you will). Anything large scale is done on servers that supposably don’t keep your data either. The chat gpt integration is also just siri sending prompts to chat gpt for you, and siri always asks before doing so.

Your comment is somewhat misleading, as I understand it Apple will use your data on device to select the relevant bits to answer the question, not sucking up everything and sending it to apple, which is what I believe you’re implying, though there is ambiguity as to what is sent. But given this comment I would trust the security of data sent: Apple Intelligence is designed to protect your privacy at every step. It’s integrated into the core of your iPhone, iPad, and Mac through on-device processing. So it’s aware of your personal information without collecting your personal information. And with groundbreaking Private Cloud Compute, Apple Intelligence can draw on larger server-based models, running on Apple silicon, to handle more complex requests for you while protecting your privacy. Given Apple Intelligence is limited to the iPhone 15 pro and upwards, I’m expecting most queries to be resolved on device. It’ll be interesting to see how fast the iPhone 16 pro’s NPU will be and how much memory is increased to accommodate larger models, so that more on device queries can be on device.

I love this video, I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I recently started learning to program in C# and just watching this app being made from scratch has helped me tremendously even though I'm not learning Swift.

I agree with your assessment. As far as data privacy and Siri is concerned it boils down to do we trust Apple. Perhaps I’m being naive but I am happy to put my trust in Apple, they may not be perfect but their track record is way better than just about every other big tech company IMO. It’s very difficult to predict 5 years ahead but I’m sure that the capabilities of AI will have improved significantly and its use will be normal and mainstream. So adapt and survive is the best policy, but that’s nothing new 🙂

all i want is Swift Assist. Working with ChatGPT was fine even with copy / pasting content but now imagine how it is when ChatGPT already knows what is going on in your project and can help you even better.

Thanks Chris again for your positivity! For me Siri really is a tricky one because Apple I have always thought if as one of the most secure companies in terms of its user’s data. Also I often stand by the argument of why be afraid of big companies or Siri etc. having my data when I have nothing to hide in it… To be honest I have never actually used Siri practically because I always thought it is a but crap: I would ask it, ‘when was Apple founded’ or another general question and it would say ‘Here is what I found on the web’… It clearly isn’t a hands free thing, and how easy would it be first Apple to set Siri to read me the first result? Or I might ask it ‘where is Logan Botanic garden’ and it says ‘There is nobody in your contacts named Logan’ other something of the like. Anyway I really hope that with a proper AI system Siri is able to do 3 things: • Understand what I ask it • Summarise web responses and most importantly • Work without wifi!!!! Anyway, that’s my opinion. Chris for another project on your list • SiriKit course • App intents course

Hey Chris! I was wondering if you are or would consider publishing some updates to your deprecated courses over at CWC+. For example, I really liked the sound of CoreML then SpriteKit, however I found they were not detailed and outdated. It would be great to see some improvement in those areas 👍. Another suggestion: this video series on SwiftUI components could go on CWC+ in your SwiftUI views reference

Hey Daniel, I'm definitely going through and updating courses! However, those two specific ones are not the next ones unfortunately. The next one is going to be a Firestore Database course and an updated KZfaq API app course (different from what'll be released on YT). However, please keep the comments/feedback coming. Definitely will consider the wants and needs of everyone learning with us!
