The Turks did NOT refer to the region as 'palestine'. They called the region 'Southern Syria' and 'The Sanjak of Jerusalem'. The British went on to own the region, from 1917 to 1948. The word 'palestinian' was a made up name, invented by Egyptian terrorists in Cairo in 1964. The word did NOT exist before 1964.
