That Mark Jones try is iconic. Remember missing that game due to a massive accident at Reading M4

All I remember from this game is that the referee started being really lenient towards Munster near the end to stop it being a trouncing 🤣

Bateman ( The Clamp ) was a big crowd favourite at Warrington RLFC . His tackling was excellent and was a great attacking centre . He also played for Cronulla in the NRL , which again showcased his talents . Playing RL enhanced Batemans talents .

I was more or less directly above the try line for this. I have never willed a ball to stay in field more in my life, or a player to keep chasing a ball more, or hoping a defender would keep hoping it would bounce out! The passion, hope, belief was overwhelming. Then Howley touched down and we could plainly see that long before the referee gave it. A great kick, a great chase, a match winning player. Ecstatic

@@magnuspeacock5857 Cheating literally requires no skill, that’s why players who aren’t good enough to compete legally do it. So there’s nothing bold or audacious about it, it was down to dumb luck, and an equally dumb referee.

@@stevenmcalister826 cheating requires no skill. Cheating without getting caught however is an art. The ability to illegally spoil an attack without conceding a penalty is what makes the likes of McCaw, Pocock, Itoje, and Ritchie so effective.
