Thanks for your info. Ive given up on this plant. I bought 6 of them. Studied all the right material. Religiuosly checked soil and conditions. All, thats right, ALL OF THESE POS PLANTS DIED. THERE just like cilantro. Its dam near imposible to keep them alive. So depressing to see money thrown in thr trash. Never can understand how these plsnts do well at the big box stores. Im sure the workers dont spend hours and hours investigsting these plant and their sophistication. All thsy do is water them and move on to the next plant, and yet the plant survives with no issues. i even tried contscting the distributors for these plsnts to see what the secret to success was, and basically was not told anything that i alreafy didnt kno. These plants SUCK for me in my opinion. To have to come at these plants like their newborn children and they still die pisses me off beyond belief.

Hi, what's the name of the green one with markings sort of like a camouflage, the one that looks like a silver satin pothos? I think it's the 6th one shown. Update: Nevermind. Someone else asked for the name and you already answered. Beautiful looking plants you have.

What is the best way of repotting single tubers with extra long roots? I know the actual tuber needs to stay close to the top of the soil, but the roots are so long, I’m not sure what to do with all of that long, fine roots. If I put them all together in a pot, they’re so many roots squished together, is that bad or is that OK? My tuber always end up rotting when I re-pot them. I must be overwatering, but the vines are so limp and in need of water, I’m just not sure what to do here.

Hi Kelly, the other option is to give your strings a pruning. This will encourage the strings to branch to make it more full. Also by pruning the strings are not as long so make it easier for the plant to provide water to the strings that are further away. Thanks for watching and your great questions! Hi Kelly, I use osmocote soil products. I have used cheaper potting soil and seems to work fine as well, l think the more expensive ones just means l don't have to repot as often or fertise as often. Happy String of Hearts Gardening ❤️

Hi Cathy, Oh didn't l , opps l thought l did. Wilting could be the Calathea naturally the leaves folding down during the daytime and should fold up at night. If the Calathea isn't then it's generally dued to soil being too dry or too harsh sunlight on the leaves. Happy Calathea Gardening ❤️

@@PlantNationMinh So I recently bought syngonium cuttings, they do have nodes but the leaves seem to be droopy. I initially got the cuttings in soil then i dried growing them in water to no avail as the leaves turned a lightish green, could it be that i shocked them by changing the medium ?
@PlantNationMinh
@PlantNationMinh 10 күн бұрын
@Nativecurls Hi , yes there is a possibility that the cuttings became stressed with the change in medium. You could try and cut the leaves in half to encourage the cuttings to grow roots rather then the plant trying to maintain the leaves. I find for myself, syngoniums cuttings did the best for me in Sphagnum moss and be semi covered to increase warmth and humidity. Thanks for sharing your syngonium propagation journey. I have never been successful doing this. They always turn to mush and rot. I have probably spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars trying to get it right. I will keep trying until I figure it out. This would rot for me guaranteed. I’m completely stumped why. Can you tell me the exact brand of soil mixes that you are using, maybe that’s my problem. I will try anything.

@PlantNationMinh 12 күн бұрын
Hi Kelly, I use osimocote premium potting mix and Osmocote Catci mix and Brunnings Horticultural Charcoal. If if your having issues with rot have you tried water propagation with the chains? Also don't cover the plant if your finding rotting is occuring and let the soil completely dry before watering and reduce the water amount so soil is only moist. Keep on preserving you will get there. Thanks for watching the content and commenting. Happy String if Spades Gardening ❤️

Can you tell me what would cause my variegated lipstick to get a white powdery stuff on the leaves closest to the stem? Then they seem to dry up at that area and die and fall off.. what should I treat her with? I had her under a good grow light and she was thriving and then this happened. I never wet the leaves.. but I didn't have any fans running near it. Also it's still in the soil I bought it in from a private seller. It is about 10 inches around of plant and now about 5. I am about to change the soil to your recipe today. I always let it dry out before watering.. any thoughts on what is happening to her? She was stunning. Is it true that they don't like to be moved to a new spot? She still has new growth here and there but they again dry up and fall off. The powdery stuff does wipe off. Should I wipe every leaf? Thanks so much. This is the only plant that is challenging me. I have strings of as beautiful as yours I propagated myself from butterfly cuttings in March and now she looks like yours and is in full bloom. ❤❤
@PlantNationMinh
@PlantNationMinh 15 күн бұрын
Hi Theresa, Thanks for watching the content and your interesting question. It sounds like powdery mildew to me and needs to be isolated in area with better air circulation and treated with a fungicide. I wouldn't bother wiping the leaves myself If it's more like fluffy white stuff then that is mealy bugs. Yours l think is powdery mildew I haven't had any issues myself with moving my lipstick plant. I think there is always some adaptation time for any type of plant if the conditions are very different especially when it comes to temperature and light conditions. That is wonderful your string of hearts is a stunner. The butterfly propagation method can be time consuming but the results is well worth it as end up with a super full and lush plant. But when i checked the root, it was perfect . There is no rotten root. So i confused, what is the possiblity the caused of yellow browning leaves?
@PlantNationMinh
@PlantNationMinh 18 күн бұрын
Hi, Thanks for watching the content and your interesting question. If the leaves are near the bottom of the stem then that could be normal ageing. If the leaves are near the top and the whole leaves are yellowing check for pest and being more consistant with watering. The fluctuation between periods of the soil being too wet or too dry can cause Browing/ yellowing as well. Thanks for your support. Happy Monstera Gardening ❤️

@vivinvindiata7715 18 күн бұрын
Ahhh thank you for replay my question. The yellowing leaves are in bottom part and also in top parts. I already checked for pest and there are no pest. I think maybe because the soil is too wet, or maybe because I give too much fertilizer? On the past i gave liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks. But now I already stop all fertilizer since 3 weeks.

Hi, Yss boiling will extract more nutrients out of the banana peel and be a source of potassium for the plants. Plants need more then just potassium as a fertiliser so other fertiliser needs to be used. I think the best way to use banana peel is chop it up and add to the compost bin to get a rich soil with lots of nutrients it. Thanks for watching the content and your interactive comment. @@PlantNationMinh @PlantNationMinh Thank you for responding!! :) I'm in love with gardening my succulents so I was wondering if that could be used as a liquid fertilizer (basically banana tea after sifting the peel remains from the pure liquid after blending) I'm super super new to gardening and I'm trying to do my best! would the spray fertilizer (with the method i told you) be good enough to revitalize/flourish my plants? The method i watched doesn't let it sit for days and it's all within an hour so I don't think it's gonna smell at all- probably. this is the video i watched (it's in spanish but you can tell what he's doing bc of the actions) video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/itdjeLCD0tWVnZc.htmlsi=YtuDjd2M0f1RmNhg the method starts around 2:50 and ends around 6:45! If it's still a bad method, is there any easy access-DIY fertilizer i can make? I'd get the store ones but my mom doesn't like those so doesn't let me buy them because they smell a lot :b

I have never used the method you have described before but see the potential. l might try it in the future and see post the results in a video. Thanks for the idea!
