I enjoy watching your channel from time to time and subscribed a while ago. I've never been to one of these regional Warmers shows so I watched this video to get a feel. It was interesting, thank you. BUT the sound is really so terrible I'm afraid. Wind into the microphone when you're outside that I couldn't hear very much. High volume of the music meant I had to turn the volume down, but then couldn't hear you when you spoke again. And walking around the exterior of the McLouis van twice was poor editing I'm afraid. I'm sorry to be critical, but I strongly urge you to watch this video for yourself and edit the sound or delete it altogether. I'm surprised nobody else has said anything. I'm afraid that this video is very poor. I will remain a subscriber and look forward to watching more. Cheers.

What a gorgeous place, love all the surrounding cliffs 😍 Looks like an (expensive) dream 😂 I think Honfleur probably edges it based on that, however, Cassis will have the weather on its side. Probably too hot though, I think I'd still take the grim grey Channel and constant grey skies by Honfleur, stick with what you know and all that 😂

Roughly what was the clearance on those overhanging rocks?? All ok for a 3m van? Or do you need to swing out to avoid,???!
@menopausalmotorhomer2 ай бұрын
Hi Leanne. All good for a 3m van (which mine is) although I did swing out. Appears the clearance is 3.60m so 60cm but I didn’t risk it as it feels to close for comfort driving the route 👍

We drove the gorge back in 2011 & it didn’t seem particularly scary, however we were in a car. Now we drive an A class (integrated) motorhome with a height of around 3.2m, do you know what the height limit is for the gorge as one of the overhangs seemed pretty low?
@menopausalmotorhomer2 ай бұрын
Hi Norman. They are low in some places but I drove carefully and swung out to the opposite side. The clearance is apparently 3.6m according to Google but my instinct couldn’t allow me to test that theory out 🤣 I didn’t find it too scary in the Motorhome but then I like a challenging drive 😳

It's very good that it's motorhome unfriendly. There isn't space for such huge monstrosities which contribute NOTHING to the local economy. Motorhomes require vast parking spaces and facilities, none of which are available on the narrow strip of the Cote d'Azure.

@user-xv6wn4xg1t What do they contribute apart from congestion and occupation of space, which is limited ? The occupants eat and sleep in them, thus NOT spending money in hotels or restaurants. Apart from a minimal amount in supermarkets what do they CONTRIBUTE to the economy of the Cote d'Azure ?

Oh this brings back memories of driving there last year. Can't work out if that's the same aire we stayed on, I think so, ours was £15 too, but it looks different 🤔 We did find the town quite touristy but it was very pretty and it looked more like a Spanish place than French. We saw the flamingos in February which was perfect because the mating dances were in full swing! Missed the white horses though. Driving around the camargue was amazing, so vast as you say, I wish we'd seen more of it. The other place we stayed there was Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhone (they like their long names down there) which was like this bizarre isolated tourist town, it was so strange but we really enjoyed it although again quite expensive to park, free aires are non-existent in that region
@menopausalmotorhomer3 ай бұрын
I do remember watching your video on your travels in the area when you were heading to Spain as I definitely remember the flamingos - it was too windy when we were there so they weren't about and I cycled all over the lakes but we didn't go in the national park which I think is where they do tend to flock more! I would definitely go back to this area and focus more on travelling down to the Spanish border rather than the other way! It's such a beautiful and peaceful area!

God we love France and its cheap wine, Steve and I shouldn't be allowed anywhere near it mind 🤣 The thing is, while we love a cheap bottle here (say 4 to 5 quid), often they do taste cheap - buy that equivalent price bottle over there and it's like our expensive ones! Well, sometimes. A hangover for 1 euro 65 is not to be sniffed at however 😂 We're off to Sweden next month - I dread to think what that hangover will cost 😬🙈 Pont du Gard, another one added to the list, looks * french accent * superb! ❤

@@menopausalmotorhomer yes driving to Sweden in the van! For Eurovision, although we haven't got tickets for that, but we've always wanted to go to the host city when it's on to enjoy the atmosphere and watch in a bar or the Eurovision village. So excited, but a bit nervous too as I imagine the anxiety in a busy place like that will kick in a few times 😬 We have a campsite a short bus ride or 45 minute walk outside the city of Malmo so hopefully it will be a good base. After that we're mostly driving around Germany as we've never been. Yep we intend to stock up on everything before Sweden because its going to be horrendous 😂 I dread to think what drinks will be on a night out when Eurovision is on! He acquired it though his 2nd marriage but sadly his wife died - which must have been one of the motivating factors on keeping him something to concentrate on. I always get the de la mer and sur mer mixed up. I wonder if it's a northern/ southern thing as I know some of the small towns on the northern coast of france are sur mer? It's a great little town and we enjoyed some drinks along the front bars. In hindsight, I wish I had spent another day there but I get such fomo that I feel I have to move on. Sounds like a similar park up to where my dad stayed too but it is a car park with a barrier now and no chance of free park ups along that coast anymore - we only managed to find one in our 2 weeks of touring the area!
