Great idea. The paper isn’t too thin? Did you prepared it with clear gesso? Thanks

This one wasn't too thin, so I didn't prep it with anything, but you certainly could on those older book pages!

Could these actually work on clothes? Thanks.

I don't think that would work. Since they are made from paper, they would probably fall apart if they got wet.

So beautiful. Thanks for sharing! Can it be glued instead of sewn?
@MadPaperCrushАй бұрын
I’m so glad you liked it! If you mean glueing all the panels on with out sewing, yes, that can absolutely be done. If you mean glueing the signatures in instead of sewing, I’m sure that would work too, I just haven’t tried it.

How do you make the "pages" look real when the book is closed?
@MadPaperCrushАй бұрын
Hi! I'm not sure exactly what pages you are taking about. These books didn't have any pages, they were just covers to show how to make the gilded spines. Were you just talking about the outsides of the books?

Can I ask if you use paper or cardstock for this please? Im absolutely loving your channel and cant wait to try this. You make the best snippet rolls that Ive seen. I cant download the freebie, but Im sure I can try and find something so that I can do it along with you. Thanks so much x
@MadPaperCrushАй бұрын
I'm so glad you like the snippet rolls! For any of the top embellishments, I did use a cardstock weight paper. For the base papers, these were scrapbook paper weight papers. I hope that helps. I hope you got the freebie - it's not expired and I tried to test it myself and seems to be working ok for me.

Wow, wow, wow, I somehow stumbled across your channel when I searched for how to make a snippet roll. Id seen a few on you tube and they intrigued me, so thought Id search for more. Oh my gosh, this is absolutely fabulous. You explained it perfectly and to watch you use paper AND material was super exciting. Ive saved this to a folder because I want to watch it over and over again. I loved seeing you put a paper doll on top of the tag!!! I have a question. HOW DID YOU GET THOSE PAPER DOLLS TO STICK TO A BOOK???!!! Mine are all in a bag and I have to tip them all out to find the one I want. Fantastic video, the best one Ive seen and Ive seen many.. Thankyou so much for sharing this. New Subscriber here x

haha - I love that little book of paper dolls! All I did was take a tiny bit of double-sided tape and put in on the back of the doll and then stuck it into the book (I use this one here: amzn.to/45cz71Z). I hope that helps, and I'm so glad you found me! 🤗

I manage an arts and crafts store and have hundreds of buttons. Recently I decided to sew buttons that match on card stock so they would be more interesting than just putting them on a string. The cards are perfect and will up the presentation. I was glad to see you had some difficulty sewing the buttons on too. I jest keep getting the thread and card all tangled.

How wonderful! Glad you found a fun use for the cards. And - yes, sometimes those buttons want to fight you! haha

I love this so much! I love making junk journal planners, but I am disabled and sometimes pain keeps me from doing the things I love. This gave me so many options for still having a jj planner even when I don't feel well enough to make a planner from scratch. Once I create a layout like this, I can even scan it in and just print it out before I put the numbers in. Then I have it on demand any time! Thanks for this creative tutorial.
