could you tie this with MARIBOU feathers? to give the fly extra movement in the water,, thank you for the tips

Mike that's a great fly...I use it but tie it without the beadhead.

Peacock herl unravels on me so i always put a half hitch in for safety. No reason to get half way thru the hackle and have the body unravel.

I assure that to the fifth capture the fly is completely destroyed, because at minute 4:58 the peacock loosened completely and the copper wire works better if it is tied in the opposite direction. It looks a bit like a hanagasa kebari.

Hi Erixs, good eye the herl did loosen in that take.. However I’m confident that the fly will maintain its integrity regardless of the direction of the wrap as it has significant binding at either end. One of the reasons I use a Klinkhammer hook is when the fish strikes majority of the stress and wear is on the bend of the hook and not on the body of the fly.
