The diameter of the surface cleaner doesn’t factor into the nozzle size? I was looking at a 20” cleaner to go with my 4.0 gpm machine. I know the cleaner is a little oversized, but was wondering if the nozzle size should be adjusted because of that larger cleaner.
@pressurewashnerds6 күн бұрын
Great question. As a general rule, 4” per GPM but many people had used 20” with a 4GPM. It’s just a little less efficient than a 16 or 18, so you’d have to walk slower.
@Selfmade5831710 күн бұрын
Would you say this more comparable to the Xero Pure or Pure Plus in performance? Thanks for the video!!
@pressurewashnerds6 күн бұрын
You’re welcome! Same initial filtering as the Pure but it’s got a higher flow RO membrane and DI tank than both of those options so you’ll probably end up with better flow out of this custom build than either one of those options.
@CarterStutzman11 күн бұрын
I just completed the same build and the water pressure coming out of the DI tank is the same, but doesn’t seem to be enough to come efficiently out of the water fed pole, any ideas why? Do I need a booster pump? Different pole?
@pressurewashnerds6 күн бұрын
Yeah, if your flow is too low you’d probably want to add a booster pump. Flow to a WFP in general isn’t going to be super high. Give it a try first on your own windows and see if you can adjust the RO bypass to get the flow you need.

So I stand back further than you and more so mist oxidized houses. And for some reason it looks like I destrub some oxidation at times. Do you think that’s probably letting the sh sit in the vinyl to long or I’m too careful so misting it doesn’t rinse that good?
@pressurewashnerds15 күн бұрын
Most of the time, if there’s ALOT of oxidation, we will no quote the house. In the video, you can see my house hardly has any oxidation. If you’re staying far away, I’d try letting SH sit a little bit longer and then rinsing as normal. Chances are, they tried to clean it themselves before you or someone else created those lines a few years prior. All of which would be good things to have in your disclaimers as a CYA.

We are part of the groups that leaves it there. I’d say roughly 90% leave it and the others rinse. We do tell our customers that it’ll likely take 2-3 good rain events to knock all the dead growth down.

if the ro was hooked up to just a garden hose, what would the output be like? I have a di cart for pressure washing my cars and was wondering if i can use the ro as an inline prefilter before my di tank but i suspect that the ro membrane is pretty restrictive because all the set ups I have seen incorporates a tank to hold the water after it has gone through the ro and then it is pumped into the di via booster and then to the pressure washer. Would a hi flo ro membrane help?
@pressurewashnerdsАй бұрын
At the end of the day, the single RO is always going to be the most restrictive. The Axeon membrane linked in this video was the highest flow at low pressure (garden hose) that I could find. But I think if you’re trying to feed a pressure washer, I’d look at running multiple RO membranes in parallel.

I live in the UK and here we clean a lot of block paving where its coveraged in weed and moss in between the blocks. I have a 30lpm 200bar machine. My surface cleaner is 700mm and has 3 nozzles. I wonder if i can upgrade my tips to create more pressure so it would remove the moss and weed easier. I currently have to go over 2-3 times then turbo for the bigger more stubborn weeds
@pressurewashnerds2 ай бұрын
You can try chemicals (pre-treat with 1-3% SH) to help kill the moss, then you might get lucky and go over the pavers once with your surface cleaner. That’s a trick we use if the flat work has a lot of organic build up.
@YuriPeriotto2 ай бұрын
@@pressurewashnerds I think the main issue is lack of pressure to remove so much moss and specially weeds. Is there a chance I can use smaller orifice fans, maybe 25 degree and 2 nozzles instead to increase that pressure or would it create too much back pressure?

How many gallons does this system get before the DI resin needs replaced. most di canisters total around 250-300 gallons without the r.o. system. my guess is around 10x the use?
@pressurewashnerds2 ай бұрын
Totally depends on your incoming TDS and how low you can get the outgoing TDS from the RO membrane. Our TDS at the DI inlet is around 25 so our expected life is 5000+ gallons. There is a chart on the Window Cleaner website for the DI resin tank that shows expected life

@pressurewashnerds3 ай бұрын
We run the Xero Pro 30 but the Gardiner brand at Detroit Sponge is more budget friendly. Check out our build video if you need a WFP cart. WFP is 30 feet and the extension pole is 24 I believe. I like the nylon with the boars hair center for Alucobond, it covers the area quickly. 100% boars hair is better for heavy buildup like we had.

What is the waste water discharge ratio procedure ? Are using tds to set up flow or purely water ratio like 4 to 1 ? . I’m not using a DI filter . This if for my hydroponic setup .
@pressurewashnerds3 ай бұрын
You can test tds to get the right reject vs clean flow rate for your hydroponic setup. Time is money for window washing so I’ll leave my discharge a little lower to get more flow through the DI tank. Resin is cheap!

Orifice size vs fan degree for pressure please
@pressurewashnerds3 ай бұрын
The pressures listed in the chart are always in the line, not what’s hitting concrete. So cleaning power is really going to depend on distance from tip to concrete and fan pattern. Personally, I think 25 degree is best and if you don’t have enough cleaning power then drop down one orifice size for a little more pressure.
