Amazing garden! Looks like we’re both growing in the same area. Hope to have even half the success you’re having!

first time gardening. Tomato's and cucumbers in pots. Soil dry every day, not sure what's a good mulch.
@nonnoziccardy43532 ай бұрын
Try to cover the soil with tree mulch if necessary. Also you might need to water twice a day. I use a compost, has lots of organic matter in it like twigs and decaying leaves. It’s the best for growing for my context.

I am going to use this idea to build a fence to keep my cats in. I will do an 8ft tall fence and then at the tip have some horizontal standoffs with wire on it to keep the cats from climbing to the top and going over.

Really helpful! And looks great too, the dig proof is smart - keeping coyotes out and our dogs in.

New sub here. Saw you on Pete's channel and had to know more about your greenhouse. Haven't looked at the rest of your channel yet but hope to find info on how you customized your greenhouse, including how you enclosed the ends. Beautiful set up and have badly wanted to grow tomatoes year round for some time. We're just to the south of you in Tarpon Springs.

Just finished watching your feature on Pete Kanaris! I knew early on I was going to subscribe, but at the end of the second video when you said you had a nephew with special needs I had to sit back for a minute to gather myself. My daughter, now 18, had a stroke when she was born. The way you spoke about your nephew, not with pity, but empathy, really spoke to me. I hope you understand how appreciated you are. Your garden knowledge is fantastic, but I think it is your humanity that truly shines through.

Thanks for sharing the content, it's encouraging to see people growing successfully. I love seeing the progress you're getting from that high tunnel. How much and at what frequency have you been watering in there? Do you ever have soil samples analyzed? I'm over in Brandon and am having mixed results with my garden. We had a successful tomato crop this year but the cucumber moth caterpillar wiped out our cucumbers early and eventually overcame the patty pan. We got a harvest of pole beans but nothing like I'm used to when gardening up north. Roselle was our star this year. I have a bunch of tobacco seedlings started that has be excited for this year.

Thanks for your comment. I water once a day for 40 minutes using a drip irrigation. During the summer that can vary. I have never had a soil test. I have 30” wide beds that are compost ( tree mulch that is sifted, no manure) and it’s amended with organic fertilizer. I have done several videos on starting my beds and flipping them for a new crop. I utilize the Market Garden Techniques, success is amazing. It’s simple. Growing in a greenhouse with roll up sides is a game changer too. Best wishes growing this upcoming year 🙏
