Really depends the band you are seeing. Some is run around and light pushing. Others like hardcore show's you might get elbowed in the face

I get that completely, I’m not one to step into the hardcore type pits like that just cuz I’m too big of a bitch to get my nose broken or some shit but I encourage the fuck out of it it’s all apart of the scene and I respect the shit out of it but unfortunately the bigger these bands get I feel like the more the true hardcore pits go away it’s happening to KL right now, such a shame because the crowd is such a big factor in the scene
