If I remember correctly, yes! But the side shelf overlaps it on installation, so if you know you won’t be using, you can probably just skip that step. I think after I finished installing, I wanted to remove it to have less of a foot print during storage, but then I realized I had to remove side shelf and got too lazy to do it.

Take ribs out of fridge 30-60 mins to let it come to room temp. Season and let it sit for 30 mins. During that 30 mins start up ur xxl pro and set it to 250 (thats the temp I used throughout). Put ur ribs in once ur smoker is at 250. Do not open again until maybe after 2 hours. Then just check every hour if the bark has set, touch it and if the seasoning sticks to ur finger then its not ready. If it does not then you can’t start spraying. At the 3rd or 4th hour I check for meat temp of 180. Once I hit 180 I wrap. After you wrap theres no need for wood chunks in the smoke box anymore. After wrapping and you hit 200-205, I pull it out, sauce it and throw it back in ti let sauce thicken/tack up. That should only take 15-30 mins. And ur done. 👍🏼

I love it! Not many Cons, but if were to nitpick I would say that, the door handle should be better insulated, part of it is exposed metal and heats up. Grabbing it without gloves will startles you, maybe burn if you have a delayed reaction 😂. Another one is that temp maxes out at 350. Wish it would go higher but its a vertical smoker so it was designed for smoking. Unlike the woodwind pro that kinda does it all but probably not as good of a smoker compare to xxl pro? Pro - smokes really well, smokebox works as intended, app and connecting it was a breeze. Comes with 2 temp probes.

@@Wolf-kh5rp oh, yup its in a raised cement type planter. Its gotta really tall now, over 10 ft so I gotta trim it down every year.

@@Wolf-kh5rp I did plant another one in a pot, the pot is about 22 inches in diameter from costco. I believe they come in a 2 pack. Its growing pretty well.
