Drill wells in Liberia are done by private companies. I have not seen NGOs drilling community wells. They manually dig holes that are about 1 metre diameter and up to 15meters deep. One drilled well cost minimum $1500 USD. So all drill holes in this country are owned by working class. They will never be owned by own by people in need. Whose in charge of the equipment? 9 years ago I did hear of NGO drilling wells in the communities. Every drilling equipment I saw belonged to Chinese or Nigerian. We are in 2024. I have seen a Liberian owned drilling company.

I’m confused beyond words as to how does investing in gender inequality save a planet from climate change. But, what does “investing in gender inequality” look like. Because if it’s throwing money at organizations to “advocate” and waste time talking about “educating” and coming up with more intersectional things to pile up and throw money at there is going to be one outcome: those who receive the money are going to get richer. Past that, nothing. And it seems to be the goal in the last 30 years to do just that. Talk. Waste. And churn out advocacy groups and NGO’s to absorb money and spew nothing valuable in return.

Typical charity conglomeration nonsense. they self report that 81% "goes on our emergency, development and campaigning work" but you can't find any outside reports on their distributions because it's a charity conglomeration, so you have to look into all 21 members, which reveals a very different story that doesn't add up. Lumping campaigning costs and emergency/development costs together is super sus, because it doesn't demonstrate any actual help, just awareness, which accomplishes nothing on it's own. Why not parse that out farther and be more specific? It makes it sound like all they do is collect signatures but never actually put them to use. They send a camera crew out to an impoverished area, make a 2 minute video about what it would be like to help them, but there's no substance, no demonstration that any help was given or received. If you try to look for government filings, it only shows results published by Oxfam, with a couple of scattered government websites that are simply registry of charities, and only link back to Oxfam published info. Not saying this means they are dishonest, but where's the outside independent reporting? There's a cute Forbes article that is just a republish of things Oxfam says, it does no research or critique into Oxfam at all. Awareness alone is not charity, and from their own reporting and media, it looks like a very tiny percent actually contributes anything beyond the commercial equivalent of hopes and prayers. Hopefully the rest of the series has more substance than this, but based on the intro and obscured financials, I can't see how it could. What does that even mean? "We won't live with injustice". It sounds nice at a glance, but it has no depth.
