What you're saying about vibration at 45 in a high gear is why I fitted a rev counter. At 45 I am no higher than 3rd gear. Any higher gear at that speed give transmission snatch and a rough ride. On UK back roads I am never in 5th.
@tokairic3925
@tokairic3925 2 күн бұрын
Mirror extenders are real cheap on ebay and shift the mirrors out two inches and up one inch - really essential on UK roads, so you can see traffic behind rather than just your elbows. I just bought a 19 inch front wheel too, to get some more rubber on the road on the front. It tracks the tarmac joins with the narrow 21 inch wheel and narrow tyre. Won't fit it till the winter though, I can live with the 21 till then. How does yours start? Mine hits compression and struggles to get over it before starting. New battery and leads fitted too.

I've just started riding the same bike. Mine's a 2004 rubber mount carb model. Took me a few rides out to get used to it but now I'm enjoying it. Fitted a rev counter just because I felt as though I was trying to ride it with the rpm too low and getting some transmission snatch. Otherwise apart from a pillion back rest and rack, and mirror extenders so I can see more than my elbows in the mirrors, its standard. Never had a Harley before, but at almost 69 yoa I wanted something steady but interesting. Its certainly that! Only real issues are the poor brakes and the HOT engine.

So my only concern with this red kote Is that on my 1600 classic I have 2 small vent holes on the underside of the tank, How do I prevent the red kote liner from clogging them? Because if that were to happen, then there would be no way for that tank to vent it self. Please help.

Unfortunately, this is the wrong way to go - the timing chain has been undersized from the first model in '89 to the present day. The chain is getting longer and longer, so it only helps to lengthen the chain tensioner for a short time. I have had very good experiences with DID chains, they are better than original Kawasaki chains.

Your messing with the A/F mixture on a hard programmed ecu power curve that was tunned with the restrictors in place. Like another mentioned above... your mid range does suffer a little but on highway at top end it doesnt front dive on decel as much(engine braking) Quicker response on throttle but smoothness is obsolete. I have cobra dragsters and a DIY open airbox so im already at max bolt ons lol but the most i noticed is more comfortable top end, 1-2 better take off, mid range 3-4 is suffering but not like "oh crap i need those back in" top gear at 70 and needing to pass i feel like its got enough umph to get around safer.
