26:11 Joseph Milligan mentions this same point in their live Covid album "Heavy Lies the Crown" (The Vital live lockdown album) that Vital is his second favorite album and that Cities is his favorite album they've ever done, and that's him talking in 2021. I absolutely love Vital. It's my personal favorite album of the band after Friendship and I've closely followed them since 2005 since I was 14, I'm 33 now. I'd say personally, that my favorite Anberlin records in order are: 1. Never Take Friendship Personal 2. Vital 3. Blueprints for the Black Market 4. Vega (this album is technically not released yet, but every song is that will be on it from Silverline EP + Convinced EP + Walk Alone + Seven (released only as live recordings) but I know the track listing from Apple Music and therefore know all the songs, and really like it) 5. New Surrender 6. Lowborn 7. Dark is the Way, Light is a Place (I understand these are the "official albums" and there are more, but it only makes sense to rank the official albums to me personally)

Still would argue that Tom Delonge, maybe not the greatest guitarist/musician, but im coining him one of the great melodist. Not sure if thats a word, if it isnt its been coined. Say what you will about him, he comes up with some catchy melodies/riffs

"Appropriately busy" is 100% what I thought about his playing on this album. So weird to hear the producer say exactly those words haha.

Alex is one of the best and underated modern rock drummers. I love plugging in the headphones and playing along. I do not like how the label had him hold back.

Thank you for sharing the preset. How do i upload this to ezdrummer
@romodrummer
@romodrummer 2 ай бұрын
Depends which OS you are using there should be a "user presets" folder located somewhere in the EZDrummer folders, Google the instructions how to do it for your specific OS... Drag the preset wherever Google says and you will then have it as an option in the VST plugin, on the top right side drop down menu (second one to the far right) where you choose the presets under the option "User Presets" will be the preset.

Because no one likes this type of music. Mainstream music in every era is pretty much a clear encapsulation of what society is. Rap/Hip-Hop is the main right now but declining which means that society is what Rap/Hip-Go stands for. Why do you think that society sucks right now? The music doesn't necessarily make people like that but it does reinforce what society is feeling/acting like. Rap: money, sex, drugs, hoes, bros, players, etc. Rock: depending on the genre or the artist it is mostly about emotion whether sad or happy. blink-182 was/is about being young, Box Car Racer is about maturing and the grittiness of life, and AVA is about maturity and seeing the world through Love, acceptance, and action.

Well I think what really fucked it up is that he took too long after Blink imploded. That, or he just created too much ill will with how it all went down. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if in the future people look to the dissolution of blink 182 as a cultural turning point. They were the shoulders that a generations culture was resting on, then that support just went away. I think if you were there, and you look back, that time of my life around their breakup was highlighted by a lot of confusion. Sure, it spurred a lot of growth but I can imagine some group of friends probably lost that connection that kept them together. That song that mark made with plus 44, hits way different if you go listen to it as an adult with some perspective because you can clearly hear that Mark had at least some notion of what they meant to a lot of people. For me, AvA managed to become a new guiding light, kinda informed my new outlook. Even in the shittiest of times theirs something awesome and amazing to be found in life, don't ever forget that and just believe that things are going to be okay as long as you're putting out that energy. But I still recognized and picked up on the negative personality traits that had kinda became apparent through the breakup. To me, he's human and not infallible, no big, I still believe in the message of the band. However, as time went on he either started giving up or he never really believed in it. So, I think a lot of people saw through him and saw that flimsiness in his conviction, he didn't really believe the things he was singing, he's disingenuous, selling a lie. To be honest, coming up with a magical idea that inspires people that slowly loses steam until it just can't be supported any more has a certain smell to it that some of you might be familiar with, notably drug fueled inspiration. You can't keep it up forever....but you can sustain it for a really fuxiing long time if you don't have to worry about funds. To be clear, Im not saying he was out of control, you don't have to be ODing to get these manic-like ideas and feel like some supernatural force is pushing you to make your ideas reality. It feels good to work on it, it feels good to think about it, it feels good to talk about it. It becomes part of getting high, even if getting high is just sustaining a constant and manageable buzz. I've felt that and actually improved my life because of that mechanism. However, I'm not a millionaire and I couldn't sustain it forever. Cracks start to show and eventually you come down and those dreams you had suddenly don't seem lined with gold, the path isn't laid out like you said it before. Things have gotten complicated and it's a mess of thorns and every thorn takes just a little bit more to get past. Then when you truly come down, you realize your priorities are different now, you're not that person anymore when you started. I guess I'm saying it was probably a bunch of things that contributed to why they didn't gain that foothold. I think it's a combination of what I mentioned. Specifically, blink were the cultural guiding light and they just snashed it to pieces. A generation found themselves without a focus point and everyone just kind of had to find their own way without anyone or thing to guide them. By the time Tom came out with AvA people had already found their new guides and it was just too little too late.

PSA: Taylor Hawkins didn't know you existed nor would he ever and even if he had the chance, he wouldn't want to. He didn't care about you whatsoever, the same way he didn't even care for his children and family otherwise he wouldn't have killed himself. (Don't care about your opinion either. Real men don't abandon their children) Celebrity worship and parasocial relationships are cringe & weird. Time to grow up and get laid already
