So you killed 1 pig. Set a trap and get them all.
@outdoorsmansoath11 ай бұрын
There were traps out, and fortunately, we don't have wild pigs in SD yet. While I appreciate your response, they are actively trapping in the area. I was stoked to drop one because 1. it is meat in my freezer 2. it was a sow who can't reproduce now 3. My 6.5 is sighted in for this deer season!

Just the one? You need a semi auto
@outdoorsmansoath11 ай бұрын
I know it. Once we were down there, I was kicking myself for not bringing my AR. At least my 6.5 is on for this deer season. I got a mulie tag, so I am stoked for that!

Don't listen to the haters who don't understand wildlife conservation learned about animals from Disney ass people who try and shut you down. It's all cute and cuddly until it's in your yard with your kid. Then you'll care about wildlife conservation. Should have used a semi auto though. Would got way more
@outdoorsmansoath11 ай бұрын
Yeah once I was down there I was regretting not bringing my AR, but I was able to get the 6.5 verified for my zero for deer season! And it is nuts the amount of people who don’t understand conservation or care to look into the destructive nature of them. Between the land damage, ecological disruption, and disease they have a negative effect on everything else.

Why not use 4 point Claymore explosive plus shrapnel concept to get the whole herd? If feral Hogs are such a problem why not devise a better way of getting rid of the problem?

Great question. Texas has an estimated 2 million hogs. Let’s take that 2 million population and try to devise a way to eradicate them. With the amount they reproduce it would be a daunting task. With your claymore comment, yeah let’s put claymores out to harm other wildlife too. Let’s poison them? Other animals will get into the poison. It’s is a conservationist/DNR nightmare to try to figure out a method to get rid of them. They cause land damage, carry disease, and can affect the structure of the ecosystem in place in the area they are taking over.
@outdoorsmansoath11 ай бұрын
They sure would. They are strict enough as is for even getting a silencer lol.
@keillorchristoph11 ай бұрын
@@outdoorsmansoath I'm not talking about tripwire Claymores but just like with the hunting blind you can set up a Deadman switch so to speak so when you get a heard in the middle of the blast area don't push the button and most herds of pigs do not tolerate other animals in their area

The idea of this evolution was shooting from super uncomfortable positions. This was stage one and you had to shoot off the side of the trailer. It’s too high to shoot prone and too low to kneel, plus the ramp angle is a pain in the ass. He was one of only a few students to get a first round hit on this target.
