On your advice I use my Daler Rowney brush ( 3/4 ), others like my 6 & 8 are very old ( 25+ yrs old ) but good. And, after hearing your „black“ mix I‘ve tried it out, great. Tomorrow I‘ll try out the mixes you‘ve mentioned here hoping for the same results. Your suggestions aren’t good for businesses hi,hi, but for us learners are great to learn from your years of experience! Thanks for sharing, and teaching.

Fun tips.. ive seen rain gutters cut & installed on walls over desks... to hold supllies.. cute & effective use of space. I obtained a used china closet to organize books & tools of my animal acupuncture trade. Keeps everything dust free, organized and gave me a chance to add custom paint to a piece of furniture! Tiny houses.. love them!

What a delight! Listening to the two of you and watching you, and lovey whatsisname the dog (hey, I'm old okay?) has made my day. You took me back to my time spent in England, Scotland, and Wales while attending college in France, time I absolutely loved. Can't honestly tell you how many high teas I had instead of dinner. The tiny back roads, the hedgerows, the inns that are charming beyond belief... bless you both and yes, I'm subscribing. PS - I love that you left in the pencil lines, another bit of texture to tease the eyes.

Beautiful panting Charles, thanks for sharing it with us. I bought your book recently and have begun having a go with acrylics. Could I ask you if there's anything you can do or get that will slow down the drying time of acrylics? I live in a very hot climate and the paint dries really fast which makes it difficult to blend, etc sometimes. Many thanks

Penciled that one in for later perhaps. The watercolor pencils seem to be a nicer job than pastel pencil. Some get very worked up over blending the pastels but, also the watercolor isn't going to smudge without the damp. It seems a better investment or time spent, what have you.

Thank you Charles another amazing painting using water colour pencils. However I do have a cautionary tale. Earlier this year I decided to take my watercolour pencils to Malta, I had taken them out of the tin and put them in a transparent pencil case in my hand luggage, and was stopped and bag searched in customs on both outward in inward flights. When the customs man saw what I had he laughed, apparently in the X-ray machine they looked like detonators. 🤣🤣

Greetings from the Yank from across the pond in America! Yes,yes sorry about that quibble we had back in 1776, no harm, no foul, I've been watching your excellent channel for some years now and I have learned so much. My "studio", looks as messy as yours does but that's the only thing I can get right. Most of my attempts go straight into the trash. Oh well, it's not your fault. Anyway I subscribe to quite a few British channels, you blokes(I'm trying to speak like a perfect Englishman) make some of the best videos. Well I must be off, I feel the need to express myself and since we're not allowed to criticize anything any more I'll have to destroy some watercolor paper instead. Tallyhoooo from the Yank!
