Do what I do, rockhound on a limited basis. Do parking lot rockhounding. There’s lots of good rocks brought in as decoration for shopping malls, hospitals, doctor’s offices, etc.. My back is a total misery most days, and it’s the best and easiest way to find some decent rocks.

Do you wear a face mask while cutting/polishing & there are some you have to wear a filter breather/respirator even with the use of coolant & water. Quartz release glass dust that breathed in can mess up your lungs. Mother of Pearl shells, clams, oyster shells release a dangerous dust. There are many stone that can poison you slowly. Not to mention if you pick up rocks from tailings & in some parts of Arizona they have tiny mercury balls on them that can be absorbed thru the skin. You can look up the stones you cut to see if their dangers match your symptoms & I would start with mercury poisoning. Hope they can find what is make you sick.
