me: _takes deep breath, preparing to say Ecclesia isn't that hard_ me: _3rd playthrough of Normal mode had 100+ deaths_ me: _breathes out_ god this takes me back. i used to be the biggest Ecclesia stan. now i think the game suffers from a lot of problems and in some way i prefer the other two games' combat, due to the game's MP problem, and i treated any attack that inflicted Curse as if i were playing hard mode since Curse makes you near defenseless, and think Ecclesia's map design is pretty flat and bland for it, and a lot of the maps repeat setpieces, and the less said about Eligor the better. nowadays my opinion is basically reversed. all three games are great, no i don't care this video is 8 years old

Honestly I dunno if Validar is really worse then Garon (who actually feels like a cheap Ganondorf especially in name). Like Garon doesn't seem any more competent really. Like Validar didn't really panick in chapter 6 but he did lose. And with what he did in the future and how he still helped with revivng Grima...he is competent to a degree. Still terrible. And eh...I wouldn't say most of Awakenings villains are bad really. Like they aren't amazing but not bad. And Walhat had a good motivation too considering he brought Valm from being a tiny island country back to it being a lot bigger and mightier with him conquering other land so of course he would still want to extend his conquest.

Best route IMO is AM. My favorite house, my favorite story, and I love the character driven narrative. CF has a bunch of writing issues, but I liked the Black Eagles second best of the houses. CF is shorter and the maps feel more unique in part 2 so it felt less repetitive (although many of the maps are just the same maps, at least your starting positions are different). Golden Deer were my least favorite house. I actually preferred SS over VW because I liked the Black Eagles more than the Golden Deer. Thus for me: AM > CF > SS > VW

Edelgard having Yveltal is perfect imo. Her last name Hresvelg is based off off of Hræsvelgr an eagle that flies above the world tree in norse mythology which is said to be the originator of the wind. While Yveltal takes inspiration from the same thing along with its signature move being a flying type move further likening them to each other on the wind aspect.

I just want to say that watching Ryoma kill himself actually HURT me inside. I wanted to try to save all the royals (not just because Corrin wanted to, but also because I don't like to kill units if I get the choice. Mainly because, if given the option to recruit a unit after sparing them, I would recruit them.) I was hoping Ryoma and the other Hoshidans would join us as we reached the end, and so seeing him impale himself in order to keep Corrin alive just broke me. I honestly liked his chapter, but I can agree that the infinite amount of team-up units makes it super frustrating. However, the whole thing feels like it is redeemed by Ryoma's death cutscene, so maybe it's not too bad. P.S.: I played my first run Easy/Casual, but got stuck on the endgame because I had legit no gold or EXP to make strong units. So, in order to get to the end of the story, I'm redoing the game on Easy/Pheonix while also trying to get as many kids as possible. Wish me luck.

Sacred Stones is still my favorite entry in the franchise. A little bias though since it was my first entry to the franchise. But I really enjoyed the soundtrack from it and getting the remix callback in Engage during the Azur Twins mission was glorious. Beyond that, Fates is my favorite game otherwise. I liked the characters from Engage, but oh boy was the writing to that game trash. The first half of the game is a rip-off of Sacred Stones. And the second half is so needlessly complicated and convoluted. #YunakaBestWife
