Here's my take, inspired by this video, the transcription in Advance Funk Studies doesn't have the flam on the floor tom or the hi hat foot on beat one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aZ1-mdKKmJOZZZs.htmlsi=Tu_1r2IB06y6VqbJ

No. It IS true. Cathy Rich has confirmed this story MANY times. He had a heart attack.

Buddy could do a one handed roll faster than 99% of all drummers could do a two-handed roll. It's like he came here from a different planet.

I wish the cameras didn't stay on the pianist all the damn time...okayyyy...he's soloing....but you can show C and G...yes, you can! Even while piano is soloing! Funny...notice when Christian and Gregory solo, they don't get zoomed in on as much? It is almost always a wide shot. Stupid editing.

It seems this clip has been on YT for one year and it has only 13 likes, including the one I added. Should be at least 1000 times as much, and that would be just for Cornell Dupree's playing alone!!

What, no stick tricks??? No double bass?? No gravity blasts?? No 350 piece kit?? Only 3 minutes long solo?? What's going on?? Oh, wait - the title of this clip…

It happens towards the end, you don’t really see it but at about 6:08 you can see him start breathing heavy and wincing in pain, that’s when it starts. but he finishes the song is what’s crazy, and people said he walked off stage to an ambulance afterwards.
