What sticks with me since a teenager was my friend who had the same intests as me but told me "I can't wear that because I'm black" confused teenage me was just like "sure you can. Use my clothes that you can fit and let's go shopping for some more" was YEARS later till I understood what see was really saying. (Emo/Scene kid style is anyone was wondering) And now I sometimes I think back on how unintuned I was with my friends experiences. But I do better now.

It's so sad that those who assumed your hair was cheap think that black people's hair must be worth less than white people's hair simply because it is of a black person's texture. It shows how little he values his own features and the features of black people in comparison to white people's features.

So people cannot simply be attracted because they are intrigued by others who look different from themselves? It has to be a fetish? I disagree.

Old video, but as someone who fits the stereotype and is married to a white man, it’s far from all I can pull. It IS mostly African-American men who don’t like how I look and make it loudly known. I wouldn’t say white men are attracted to me either. Tbf, I’m an unattractive person, but that hasn’t really stopped me from being hit on. The men I find that are most attracted to me are Latino men of all races and African men. I also find European men are oddly into me. I don’t what it’s like in Europe, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they receive less messages about Black = ugly because there are less Black people there than in the US. Though, I find that the European men who were into me were way more fetishy. I do hate the assumption that if someone does like us, they must have a fetish. I wouldn’t date someone with a fetish for me. I went after my husband because he and I had so much common, and he felt the same about me. I also think there needs to be a conversation about how some of us “low-maintenance” Black women are neurodivergent, and that’s why we have difficulty maintaining our hair and doing makeup every single day and dressing to the nines. I would love to wear beautiful wigs and weaves and dress amazingly and always have my make up done, but I can’t keep up with that or even afford to. My neurodivergence means that a lot of people don’t see me as a suitable partner, so dating has been getting in where I fit, and where I fit in is with neurodivergent men.

Had a black girl tell me because I liked going to bookstores I must only date white men... Bffr like really. Black men will say "You look like you only date white dudes." as a way of negging you to guilt trip you into dating them if they are not your type. What's crazy is if you say you date poc too they get so frustrated. Look don't get me wrong there most definitely is a type of look that goes into only dating white men, we've seen it before, but can we let black people be other things other than a walking stereotype or super immersed into urban culture.

They really left Joe Gilgun to carry the last two seasons. The only two genuinely good eps (imo) of those seasons were about his character. 1. The one where we find out there’s a third Rudy who is a psychopath, and 2. When sensitive Rudy is turned into an old man and we see the softer side of Rudy. He’s such a great performer that I basically only watched those two seasons for him.

ngl I hated naee the whole show just because I couldn't get over the fact that she was playing both priya and demi... like... I didnt get when they were saying how priya and nae were the closest couple when Georgia and cara were right there. Ngl I never thought they were locked in as a couple bcuz of Nae playing them but maybe that's just me cuz Demi was my fav
@boredaflol
@boredaflol 24 күн бұрын
also hot take but when naee and priya voted out that couple I feel like it made complete sense cuz they had been arguing a lot and it really seemed like their relationship was on the rocks. I also didnt think when priya said "It is what it is" I don't think that was rude at all... like idk it seemed more to me like something she was telling herself so that she didnt dwell on it herself as well as the girls who came at priya, like it did feel like they were attacking her unreasonably and they kinda needed to get over it cuz its not like someone died... But priya at the end really kinda pissed me off cuz why r u going around yapping about your opinions of your 'friends' relationship but not saying it to her face?

Yeah something about Demi made the show feel so much more down to earth, like not just characters but everyday people with nerves and feelings. I enjoyed having her on definitely, I was soooo shocked when she left that quickly. I don’t think people really pointed out how Nae played her enough

@@boredaflolLiterally! Like, who did they expect to go? Nae & Priya were in an impossible position, how can you be mad at them for that! Also, Priya yapping 🤣 so true! I don’t know why she couldn’t have just owned it, apologised and said her piece. Eva was defo being messy by calling it out in front of everyone, but I feel like Priya needed a taste of her own medicine because that’s basically what Amy must have felt having everyone whisper about her.
