Definitely something wrong there ! I was one of the lucky ones who got a perfectly working P2 which I really enjoy running. I was thinking about getting one of these "Scotsmans" (If there are any) but will put it on the back burner now. Its still good to see your layout though and I hope you are keeping well, all the best, Stewart PS I guess all this reflects the broken world we live in now !
@letzterinstanz22 күн бұрын
Hi Stewart, I think 60103's water tank is only 3ml compared to 5ml of the P2. It is also fitted badly, which is why the smokebox door sticks out at the bottom and it leaks. Technology is fine when it works! Ah well, it's raining here......take care, all the best, Reinhard.
@D402DDS22 күн бұрын
That did sound awful... random white noise sound. Assume its not meant to do that ? Like drain cocks stuck open...
@BoaFilmsPlc22 күн бұрын
Hi R, Hope all is well with Y, Keith & yourself. Am I correct that it's a Hornby TXS decoder fitted as that might explain the dreadful sounds as they can only make 3 sounds at anyone time? Also, I'm guessing that the "smoke" unit is one of the TRS Trains ones that uses water instead of oil? As you say, certainly VERY poor quality at a very high price! Look forward to catching up again after the "high season" Kindest regards Boa

Hi Boa, Right on all counts. K. bought this thing with the sole object of finding out how the TRS effort worked. Pity it didn't! Just his luck.. It seems a lot of them do. ATB.....R.

I got one of these as a birthday present one year when I was a little kid. After only a few weeks, one of the drive sets stopped working. We sent it back and got a replacement, only for that to also break in the same manner after just a few weeks. They look great, but they weren't made very well.

Just got myself Resolven Grange today. Unfortunately, the DCC socket is in the locomotive and not the tender and my model shop said fitting her with sound (ESU Loksound) is impossible. So, I wanted to ask, how you did this. Does it require any modification to the body? What decoder and speaker is in there? Where did you get the sound from? The Grange is my only modern GWR locomotive and I want to have a Sound fitted locomotive of each of the big four. Can you please help me out? Thanks

Only gripe is the chuff rate is off. Watch at 0:51 and you can see it to be about 4 beats/rev. DOG is a 3-cylinder loco which equates to 6 beats/rev. If it was a Britannia it would fit well

Hi R, Is Keith making a new dedicated sound file for this loco or going to use a Class 71 sound file as EFE suggest?

hi there,i have just got mine in the same colour, its a FAB loco, i am one of a few who have seen these locos in real life as used to live in east sussex near Newhaven, i was seven, and remember then well in 1962,why its taken so long to produce these i don't know.20003 was a different shape, great memories, look forward to the next video,do you still have the Brighton Belle ?

I agree its a good model but had trouble with its pulling capabilities on my layout at least, had trouble pulling 4 of the latest maunsell coaches up a slight incline, wish they had included a set of drivers with the "dreaded" traction tyres ! Hope you are keeping well Reinhard, great sound by the way, Stewart
@letzterinstanz Жыл бұрын
Had the same thing with this one. Turned out the drivers were a bit 'greasy' on the treads. Wiped some 'Tidy Track' ' Clean Track Solution' on the track where the engine was. Magic ! It worked ! Problem over. Try this stuff on yours. It comes as a complete set with a couple of different applicators. Expensive, but worth every penny. Hope this works, Reinhard.
