Hey mate, thanks for your comments! Hate to be that guy, but I gotta be that guy for the sake of the channel and be careful what files I share/promote. Unfortunately this one was purged from the purple site by the Inquisition due to it's heresy, so I don't want to be wrapped up in that and jepodise what I'm trying to do here. The STC is out there though, and I've Readit can be found... Hope you stick around to see more of it! 👊

Biostrip20 for like 10 minutes, if there is any left that hasn't dripped off just wash it off with water then for nooks and crannys use toothbrush and a few drops of isopropanol.

Does this technique remove primer as well? Excellent tutorial either way!
@DireDiceTabletopАй бұрын
Yes! Though some primers may take a bit more work to get off than those specifically designed for use on models. The steps are exactly the same, just need to repeat it a few times.

😂 I totally remember how much of a pain in the arse glueing metal miniatures was, but I discovered the solution of pinning!.. and it's so nostalgic to remember pinning, because you don't really see hobby channels demonstrating pinning except the odd one here and there for attaching the miniature to the base, but pinning was used a lot back in the day with metal miniatures. Try it for your next piece.
@DireDiceTabletopАй бұрын
I've got vivid memories of pinning a Daemon Prince when I was about 9/10 using the original GW pin vice and brass rods 😂. It didn't cross my mind to do it for this! I'll definitely do a pinning video at some point - Amazon sell multi-pack sizes of carbon fibre rods which are brilliant for it. Thicker ones also make good flying stands!

that basing is absolutely out of era for that particular model. have a gander at the old beastmen book from 6th edition, all the base trims are graveyard bone. you can even see it in the reference pic youve shown in the video. that really curled my toenails towards the end.

I'm colour blind so browns/greens aren't the best for me, but this is great advice for the rest of the Beastmen I have to paint for my personal army!

@@DireDiceTabletop that explains the lacking "redness" in the leather of the pauldrons, thought you went for a more muted brown because you fancied it more. considering this, it is an awesome job. if you were to repaint the base trim in a light drab brown (xv88 would be a modern counterpart), youd make me incredibly happy. lets just say: it would satisfy my inner Monk.

Soldering Tips: Tin your wire and make J-hooks. Throw on a piece of heat shrink. Link up and close your J's with needle nose pliers to form a link. Solder the two wires together & clip off any sharp/pointy bits from the tips of your J's. (Insure that you have a homogeneous weld, no giant blobby solder, and no cold joints) Slide your heat shrink over your solder joint & shrink it up!... Done! 😁

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why the battery pack has to be in the base? I've never owned a titan myself, but from the look of them I'd image there's space somewhere up in the torso to store it where it'd be closer to whatever elements you want to light up and then you wouldn't have had to deal with the hassle of running cables all the way up the leg - unless of course, the downed vehicle on the base is also supposed to light up (maybe flames or flickering sparks or what have you). Either way, great build!
@DireDiceTabletop3 ай бұрын
Great question! The main reason is for ease of changing the battery. I'll need to glue the torso together for stability so I won't be able to change the battery once it's sealed in the body. It also makes it easier to turn it on and off as I don't have to find a way to incorporate a switch into the body itself, which is quite thick. You are somewhat on to a spoiler of things to come with other parts of the Titan you haven't seen yet mind.... 😉 Thank you for your feedback, plenty more of this build to come!

@DireDiceTabletop3 ай бұрын
Thanks, really appreciate it! It does have a slight tilt upwards currently due to the way the waist printed (touched on in the first video), that'll be corrected at a later stage. Got some secret plans to come before that gets done 😉
