But he is awful! Listen to any performance, there are serious pauses which he totally ignores, pushing ahead like he was playing Mad Dogs and Englishmen, I mean, PLEASE! Learn the actual music!

Very nice. However, the tempo for the second section of the aria is pretty slow, too much so for my taste. Also, while your trills are beautiful, they take a fraction too long, which further slows the phrase down (“Già La speranza sola”, etc.) each time. If anything, the tempo needs to move forward, not backward.
