I think it is fair to point out how ABK affects the earnings because they are being compared to numbers that were pre-purchase. What was most disturbing about that unlocked podcast was the laser focus on only the negatives. In a recession economy, being up in total xbox revenue by 4 percent, ABK notwithstanding, is actually pretty good. But that was presented as a negative. HW is down, but it is down industry wide, and I doubt Playstation will be up in total revenue by any more than Xbox. The whole podcast was weirdly negative. Ryan had to drag up Tango's closing again, the old Xbox has no games trope was brought up, and they once again took potshots at Starfield, despite the excellent engagement numbers for the game that they never mention. I don't mind fair and balanced criticism but they lately seem intent on emphasizing only negatives. I finally un-subscribed. I've been reading Ryan Mcaffery since the old OXM days but it has become too much.

Allow me to learn your audience some facts about Chyna that may shed some light on why Wukong isn't coming to Xbox. Chyna, is a Communist country (surprising I know), and playing games for too long negatively impacts your Social Credit Score. This means the vast majority of Chinese gamers are PC gamers (using VPNs to get around the Social Credit systems) which you can confirm seeing as half of all Steam users are Chinese. Wukong is targetted at the Chinese market and probably expected to achieve 85% of lifetime sales on PC, 10% on PS5 and 5% on Xbox. Excluding the internet dwellers, the casual audience isn't keeping up with Wukong and are unlikely to buy this game because they like the box art. As far as the developers are concerned they are hitting all relevant platforms and it probably isn't worth their indie budget to delay their game for that 5% Xbox audience. PC is going to carry Wukong and Playstation is beer money if it sells well.

Not holding Xbox accountable for delivering on 2024 Gamepass promises is bad. This is costing the consumer more money. They now have to pay for additional subscription to play a game they were told would be included in their 2024 subscription. With all due respect please quit ball washing Xbox as they fail to deliver.

I'm an Xbox user (and also used Playstation until PS4) and I can understand their hot take... Sure, Xbox hardware is not selling as much as it could, their exclusive games are not really really top tier right now, then why would a company still invest in a new iteration in this category? In business, that take makes sense 100%: no company would keep investing and losing money and opportunities 🤷🏻‍♂️. However, I agree that Xbox has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, that they can't let that die (not yet). They could release a console that could also run windows 11 and allow you to play PC games with mid-high specs on, while also allowing you to boot on either Xbox or PC mode. That to me would be a game changer, big enough to drive a lot of attention and (most importantly) money to Microsoft. Also, Microsoft is not really known for leaving products behind, not at the rate Google or Sony do... Think of Stadia, PSP, PSVR2 more recently, etc etc... So yea, I don't see Microsoft backing out of this anytime soon (although it would make sense if they did... Don't get me wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️)

The whole Next Gen for Playstation and Xbox is not good. I lightly agree with some parts of what Destin is saying. As a consumer, I don't want to buy another console if the current gen has not really shown anything. We are playing the "fool me once" game with Playstation and Xbox at this point.

So your argument basically boils down to "Nintendo made a comeback after ONE failed device, so Xbox could too" Completely ignoring the fact that Xbox has been third since the creation of the brand (Yes that includes the 360 gen which was the closest they ever got to 2nd merely because of that year headstart without competition) and ignoring that last gen was awful too and this gen is looking to be WORSE. And Xbox consoles are being sold at a loss. It doesn't make sense for them to continue making powerful consoles when they're putting their games/want to put their games on as many platforms as they can anyway. If they ARE releasing another console then they're better off just making a next gen version of the Series S and leaving it at that since the Series S is outselling the Series X anyway.

I just watched Destin now and Charalazander on their own personal shows. I don’t know if Char is even still on IGN. I have not watched IGN in at least like a year now. I am voting with my wallet or in this case, my eyes and their notifications of not getting another viewer watching their show. IGN should just be called “Sony PlayStation Gaming News” since they’re always pushing and promoting them.

I noticed back in 2016 that when IGN would post a negative review of a 3rd party AAA game they would always always always put (Played on Xbox One) in the title of the review and all positive reviews of 3rd party AAA games they would put (Played on Playstation4) so that you would always associate bad games and negativity with the xbox one and only positivity and good games with the playstation 4. It is clear that IGN has always had a serious hatred of xbox.

Is black myth an unreal engine 5 game because to date Lords of the fallen can still drop to 1fps on the series S in certain situations. The game should of never got a series s release. The same situations can cause the game to buckle on the series x and the fps can go into single digits.

Here’s the problem with IGN thinking. Nobody ever stays on top whoever has the most better games and you can have some better games, but it’s the person that has the most that’s what console people will be buying next. I’ve been long enough to be here since Commodore 64, Atari, Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation and I will say this Sony will not be the last top console. They’re trying to hold that possession. But if you noticed, Microsoft is turning out a lot of good games, what does PlayStation have to look forward to Concord - LOL and The Bot game and on top of it, their whole bungees studio fell apart. Meanwhile, Xbox has a ton of games that will be coming out for a while. They have to move the games over so they’re not on top of each other. if this keeps up, people will be buying an Xbox console and leaving Sony PlayStation even with Xbox games for them they’ll keep some of the big games as exclusives and people who want to come over for those exclusives and game pass prices. If Sony doesn’t get their act together people may be buying an Xbox as the next console not a PlayStation but you have to remember it takes about 5 to 6 years for a game to be made, and has a better strategy of putting out a bunch of more games but they will be AA not AAA and they will come out faster. Try to compete with that Sony PlayStation or at least try to catch up.
