The '06 album of Company is my favorite. Don't get me wrong, the OG is excellent. But Raúl is stunning as Bobby. Heather Laws as Amy and Barbara Walsh as Joanne... I'm so glad there's a pro-shot and that I own a copy.

Wow. Fun to watch for academic purposes, but compared to the 2008 Royal Albert Hall concert, this script is a MESS. I know there are several different versions of this show; let's hope this version is forgotten to time. Yikes.

I really love his rendtiion of the songs here, it's just perfect for the role of Anatoly. This song burrowed in my head for a while and I had to remember where I heard it. Chess, the soundtrack is just amazing.

I discovered this show from a trivia question about Andrew Lloyd Weber composed plays (obv this was a wrong answer) and I decided to take a look at it . I'm glad I was able to find this one, I did find a 1986 West End version that was terrible...this one is a 2023 version compared to the other one Anyway, after listening to the soundtrack I'm a fan of the show and hope to see it live. Maybe it will come to Toronto

I was there that evening....and this put a cherry on top of a wonderful night of short plays of which his was to be the last (I guess he was the "headliner"). Great fun throughout! Yet, I did not expect this! To hear Raul sing his signature song that as he stated he hadn't sung "in a long time" was just indescribable. As always, the ever-brilliant Mr Esparza was simply spectacular. There aren't adjectives enough for this, so "amazing" will just have to suffice. The man just does not know how to NOT bring his A-game to the stage. Thanx for sharing so others who weren't lucky to be in the audience can have the chance to watch and enjoy.

This musical came out in 1984. Tim Rice (Jesus Christ Superstar) and two members of ABBA collaborated on it. It has an excellent soundtrack album. It's not new.

Second best version of this song after Michael Cerveris’s. Cerveris gives a sadder/ more emotional version. Esparza’s is more cerebral and a bit angry. But both give me chillsz but I have to give it Cerveris for his delicate specific nuances. He lives the song. But this version is tremendous as well. They are both probaly my two favorite Sondheim interpreters. Both versions are superior (in my opinion) to Mandy’s original. And it probably has to do with the times and what we currently need to feel from singer/actors.
