I’m a Ohio State fan I have no issue with Matt Millen a very passionate man. Listen Joe was naive. He did tell his boss but should have done more. It upsets me that people treat Joe worse then the School President, The AD, Mike McQuary or Jerry Sandusky. The President & AD knew something happened. Worse McQuary walked in on a incident. Get the guy off the kid & scream for help so people come running, don’t give me I had to talk to my father about what to do. Now the big thing that few people understand Joe Pa wasn’t friendly when Sandusky they just worked on the same staff the misconception is they were friends no they weren’t ask anyone around that school. Joe was the Head Coach he ran practices but Sandusky ran the defense & the meetings of that unit. If you know football the offense & defense watch separate film in separate rooms I guarantee you when Sandusky was running the defensive meetings Joe wasn’t there & would appear probably stick his head in the door saying “Coach game plan for the game going ok????” This idea that Joe & Sandusky were such good friends & that was part of the cover up is ridiculous.

Can't believe it's been almost 10 years since this news first broke. I remember being out to eat somewhere in my hometown when the news broke and then going home & listening to the initial reports on ESPN & I was just in complete shock. I was at the last game Paterno coached (the snow game against Illinois) & even then I never saw this coming. I also was there when he won his 400th game. And in an instant. it seemed that none of it mattered anymore. I'm a VA Tech Hokies fan in an entire household of Penn State fans, so this was a notable, sad event for us as a CFB loving family.

His heart was truly broken for Sandusky's victims, and also for the damage done to coach Paterno and the Penn St program. He was honest, emotional, and truly horrified by the whole situation.

It's pretty simple. A sick deviant (sandusky) was seen doing something despicable. Paterno was told. He went to campus officials who he assumed would do the right thing. They didn't. Because they didn't fire sandusky, paterno, a man in his seventies, thinks an investigation was conducted, and therefore assumes it was nothing and kept sandusky around. Of course Paterno could've gone to the police, but he thought campus officials would do that if something had happened. He wasn't GOD like everyone thought. He was just a popular and massively influential coach. He did what he thought he should do. In retrospect, of course he could've done more. But he is not the evil here. That is Sandusky.
