I also have a stella 20k & a 14k spooled with 80 lb & 65 lb respectively awaiting topshot. These can be used with my 8'2" Shimano Ocea plugger. Havent had the pleasure yet but Mike at my local Outdoor Pro did the pairing. Cant wait to use.

You answered my question is why not use a Trilene knot for the trailing hook. Could just use a straight shank hook as a trailer & tie it as a Trilene. Really like the Uni Snell; wish you would have shown that as a double Uni Snell. Thank you much!😊😊😊
@koogle6126 ай бұрын
The knotless knot & the uni both have 1 disadvantage. They both have the line outside the wraps of the shank which for toothy fish risks cutting the line that is exposed b4 it passes through eye & continues toward mainline. A true has the line protected by the wraps & is very simple. All you need to do is twist it as you wrap around the shank, get your 7 or so wraps completed then pull slack up through the eye. Its a far superior knot and requires little more skill research true snell & you will be sold on it.

Wow! Props to that minnow on the right! He fought hard for his life! Even though he was cut in half he lived for like 20 minutes! That’s dedication!

that's seriously disturbing. A living being is cut in half and is hanging on for life. I can't even joke about it

After a fight like that the lactic acid build up would be so high that the fish won't be able to swim very good. Should have kept it.

That's true sport fishing. The fish was not gaffed and revived. The bluefin stocks are actually rebounding and the stocks are being successfully restored.

already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). kzfaq.infoUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.

There is an exposed vertical line after making a return thru' the hole and it may snapped. Vertical line should hide in side when going round and round, definitely looks neat.

@JeffSmith-eq3kc10 ай бұрын
If you tie it correctly it will hold. I do 11 wraps on 50lb and down. Above that, no snell. Also, a very tiny dab of super glue on the last wrap doesn't hurt.

Your Uni-knot snell is incorrect even by your diagram - the tag line doesn't get wrapped around the loop and the shank then brought through the loop at the bottom; it gets wrapped around the shank inside the the loop then back out of the loop.
