Great video, I am an old Riverina lad, spent my life growing up on the Murrumbidgee, love those foggy mornings. Great channel, can't fault your channel name! Funny too, VicOffraod sent me one of those swag to check out the other day. I have testing it all out over the last couple of weekends and am hoping to get the review video out towards the end of the week, I'll go and hunt down your video now and check out what you thought. By the way, can't have too much butter, subbed, keep up the great Aussie content ✌🏻

Plenty of feedback of ItechWorld not meeting their claimed specifications. Buyer beware purchasing products from this mob. Much better "OZ" batteries on the market, it's just that those companies chose to spend their money on quality components instead of their marketing budget. Thanks for sharing, cheers.

Yep I was like you, paid about $250 for the same fire pit, does the job well but I have just purchased a different one, got a Oz Braai one like Harry from fire to fork and rate that high as well. Nothin beats a fire pit cook up. Cheers and beers.

Great overnighter vid Luke. Chef Jean Pierre says breaking asparagus is a myth, he peels his. Copping a bit of flack for cooking your steak in a pan, but how can you keep basting the butter on if it is on the grill? Nothing wrong with the pan. Cook it the way you like it. Always remember butter makes everything better, so does beer and so does bacon lol 😂.

I was given a kings big daddy deluxe swag as a birthday day present. Mattress it came with was really only a topper so o purchased a 23zero replacement mattress, cut to size. Mattress all sorted, if not very large to roll up, but incredibly comfortable especially with a bad back and hips. Add Darche double sleeping bag, flannel lined. Now with 2 trips and 6 nights sleeping, the setup is awesome, even in sub zero temps (1 to -3). Even for a small guy @ 70kg in a double sleeping bag, no blankets needed. Mate purchase a quality sleeping bag. Have had the rap-around army style and still do have them. Would highly recommend a double flannel comfortable -5degree bag. Allows movement, warmth and general comfort. Spend the funds, you,will not regret it…!

G'day Cobber, Thanks for the link to my video :) I think I started this whole step up 12v oven thing! Don't forget while the current draw is more, you're running the oven for a shorter period of time, and it actually saves on total battery usage, even with the efficiency losses in the step up. I have no idea why YT took so long to recommend this video and your channel to me. Great videos, I've subscribed and look forward to the next one.

Luke, I’m not to worried about the white pepper, more that you have a jar of Vaseline with you at camp. 🤷🏼🤣 No diesel heater? I’ve reinvented the pack down content, it’s in my next episode. Thought I’d cop a copyright strike, but got away with it. I thought it was cool 🤦🏽

Nice, Pretty much the same as my camp set up. Get yourself a sea to summit down quilt and loft that over the top of your sleeping bag. For under the mattress I have a reflective mat I got from a Japanese style dollar store. Warm as toast!
@OutNAboutAustralia10 күн бұрын
I’ve been looking at those quilts. They look the goods! I’m going to try a length of HD foam I’ve got under the mattress but if that doesn’t work I’ll have to check out some reflective matting. Thanks for the tip mate 👍🏽
@aussiecue9 күн бұрын
@@OutNAboutAustralia Yep, It's the lofting part that is key. Because the quilt is much wider than the swag it bunches up and gives you something like 4 inches of further insulation for bugger all weight and size. You don't need to tie the straps like you would if sleeping in a hammock. Just throw it on top.

the bright white is what people need to have on high beams. It helps keep you alert and stops melotonin from releasing to make you sleepy. Those more yellow softer colors arent as safe for night time driving because it allows you to become sleepy. I changed out my yellow high beams to white because of this.
@OutNAboutAustralia9 күн бұрын
I thought the same but I read somewhere the warm white was supposed to keep you from getting drowsy. Not sure who figured that one out
@nickk57318 күн бұрын
@@OutNAboutAustralia neuroscience has show white light stops melatonin releasing which is what helps get the brain ready for first stage of sleep. It’s the last hour of sleep is where serotonin receptors get recharged. White light makes the thalamus send signals to the limbic system to be attentive. Warm yellow light doesn’t.

Hey mate, haven’t had it deflate on me yet. It does get really cold though if you don’t insulate underneath it. I’ve just grabbed some foam matting from Anaconda and that seems to do the trick.

Now a couple of years later, it would be interesting to see a comparison of the Darche 450 (now $399) and the Kings Folding Fire Pit ($89 in a bundle that includes the trivet and grill). To my eye, the only difference is the Darche comes with a cast iron trivet and the Kings has a powder-coated steel trivet. The rest of it I'm sure came out of the same factory. The value for money argument may be quite different now.

Best review of all the reviews I've seen on this swag. I've watched around 11 now but yours was the best of em. I've come back to write this comment plus hope to help others who might go looking elsewhere for info, don't it's not needed, he covers it (bar cost, only a few did). After about 3-4 hours digging, reading and watching clips I’ve doubled back to check some info and see if it's all correct to what other YT channel reviews have reported. The answer is yes, and more. The main thing I came back for was to reassure myself on seam seal tape (which Out N About mentions, others don't, more below). @OutNAboutAustralia was the only reviewer to mention seal tape (that I saw). Thumbs up and thank you! Swag companies don't often seem to mention it but maneuver around with things like a proofed kind of weave, rip deterred and some sort of coating (more in the video by Off Track). Coated? Canvas? Seal tape? After buying a swag is where lessons come, please seasoned professionals chime in here! This swag seems to be pretty waterproofed without internal drips, however, Perth 4WD and Camping has a clip where he mentions condensation but he did setup during rain which was on and off. I note in the reviews I watched (specifically Off Track) coating of swags can be misleading, you want to look for “coated” (didn’t know this but he found 23Zero is coated but Darche doesn’t appear to mention if theirs is or not). OutNAbout specifically mentions that this single swag does have complete rain covers and waterproof tape sealing which I confirmed on the Vicoffroad website. For those who want some extra info, a previous competitor in the air swag market has been the Dometic Pico, reviews said price comparison plus quality have the San Hima as an updated unit, making it a much better selection. I’m not here being paid to comment, I’ve just been doing research this evening and taking notes as I go and the above is what I found. I've no affiliation and not bought a new swag ever (I was gifted one (thankfully)). I've camped (in tents as well) but not a seasoned professional, hence why I want to do research before splashing cash. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on a double. Anyways, time for me to stop rambling, and before I go, @OutNAboutAustralia great video review! I found it funny as you spoke about the pressure release valve it seemed you had some restriction issues with a fly or something in your mouth, incredible timing mate 😛 Cheers for a great review bloke 🤙 PS. How is it going all these months on? Have you used it again or in Winter yet?

Thank you very much for your video. I am about to purchase this awning with the side walls. May I ask how many walls does this awning and walls package come with? on the website it says it only comes with 1 wall, that's not possible right? 1 wall can't cover all sides of the awning?

Hey mate, it comes as a single "kit". There's 5 walls in total that zip and velcro together to form 1 full wall if that's the way you want to set it up.
