This sounds like the definition of “a provocative read”! I’m sold. Thanks for sharing your review. If you haven’t read “The housekeeper and the professor” by Yoko Ogawa. It’s a sweet story that feels like art- especially the B story that you don’t get a sort of resolution at the end.

Love the new nook! I have a gallery wall in my living room near my bookshelves of bookish art and also photographs of BookTube friends I've met IRL :)

Yeah, "this book is super hard to get through" is not a compiment, although we're so confused as fans of literature that now the "educated" think it is a compliment... Jon Fosse is SUPER boring...

I love first books too. Especially in fantasy, I love the set up and explanation of a new world.

Sarah it looks so so good!! I did not know that you also crochet (amazing pillow designs), watercolour, cross stitch and embroider!! We need to see more of this 😊 I love cross stitch, watercolour and knitting, I need to learn to crochet. You've inspired me to finish projects and get them up. How did I never think of the idea to make a gallery wall with paper cutouts - so much easier. Also how did you hang your pictures as it didn't look like you used a hammer and nails but maybe that's just cause the video was sped up? Amazing work!!! I love it!

Beautiful job with your nook! I am now intrigued by the crossstitch pattern you shared for the fantasy travel spots. Would you say that the hyrule pattern is beginner friendly? I feel like my husband would love it haha

I keep seeing the ministry of time and the cover puts me off, but now I want to read it! The hotel in Florida looked stunning. Working in a public sector job, I get nothing like this 😂 it looked so beautiful at night. I felt exactly the same about Brotherless Night, I had to take a few breaks due to the level of trauma and how it affected my mood. I read a romance afterwards as I needed something light and easy!

I read Ministry of Time on audio. Graham Gore was a real person from history. He was part of the failed Franklin expedition. I’d love to see it made into a film. I’ve been trying to cast it in my mind. Who would play Graham?

I have picked All Our Yesterdays by Natalia Ginzburg. The font size was marginal, but the print quality was better than others so it won out. It will be a nice lead into August's WIT month.

This was a great way to catch us up with your summer tbr and also do tbr spin 😊 I'm behind too, I haven't read June's book yet. July for me is Raw Speed by Tai Woffinden (a memoir by a motorcycle racer) - should be fun!! X

As an e-book reader I went the lazy way and compared the size of the titles on the cover. Got Asylum Road by Olivia Sudjic for this month's prompt.

Usually, I read my TBR spin book first but this month, I’ve left it until last. Trying to finish it before midnight 😂. July’s book is ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which will count toward another challenge that I’m doing. 👍. I loved this video. Gotta love a catch-up

About a year ago I thought about reading all Agatha Christie books in publication order. I've read the first three (all Hercule Poirot) - liked the first and third ones, didn't like the second (Murder on the Links) much at all. I will likely continue, although I'm not in a hurry. So many other things that I'm more anxious to get to at the moment. I agree with the other comment I saw about drop in and out. I personally don't consider this a "series," more like her body of work in general. But of course, it's up to you! :)
@FreshlyReadBooksАй бұрын
I think I like the idea of doing it that way too
@YourTrueShelfАй бұрын
I am in the middle of a similar number of series and it still doesn't stop me from starting new ones 😂 I often stall because I worry that I won't remember what happened in the last book, even though they tend to give reminders throughout. I am currently reading the second in the wolf den series, which is absolutely brilliant, so at least I'm making progress there! Would love to see progress updates.

If you like Christie and you're looking for fun, less Detective Detective series, I would read the Miss Marple Series instead. Less books, more silly and fun, more different perspectives. Go for that one.
@Elizabeth-ReadsАй бұрын
I love your expression in the thumbnail, like, “This is ridiculous, why am I like this?” 😂 Um, good luck? (I think my issue with continuing series is I have so much I want to read that going back to worlds I already know feels like stalling.)

I would suggest you to read the Poirot books but not in order, cruel but i did that way and i read every year 2-3 Poirots and i'm not burned out. Read first the ones that interest you most
@ellenpurdy463Ай бұрын
the Poirot mysteries are super fun but you can definitely just drop in and out, order isn’t important. I read them whenever I find them used or in little free libraries but don’t usually seek out any specifically!
