Some fun facts - I'm a trained singer and there are a lot of vocal techniques Don uses throughout the song, almost all covers of this song are sung incorrectly. - The record company pushed for a ballad and Don agreed. The other band members didn't want the song on the album. - Don paid for the video, cameras were setup when they played live towards the end of their tour. - I'm the only one who's going to tell you this because I used this technique in my video. The shots of Don singing alone, the microphone is way off center. almost off the side of his face so the lighting can light up his face and not have a reflection of the microphone. - Of course, this was their breakout hit. Great song, great band, song is written extremely well, a lot of passion behind it, great video, every track is perfection, definitely one of the best ballads of the 80's, the best decade ever.

"Who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me?" Then notice all the different people: Spartan: Tough guy Jester: Funny Guy Etc.... The video is an allegory for the song.

Im from the 70's this track was without doubt the most romantic song ever made.. it was played in disco's as a *slow song.. gives you a chance to dance with a girl/boy you are in love with or SECRETLY in love with.. and thats the essence of the lyrics.. its strike at the hearts of the majority of guys and girls literally makes me cry all these years later.. Im 61 Good reaction..
