I take a fence to that gate.....most of South East Asia is like that....refuse pick up, and other infrastructure is lacking....but that's what gives these places character...I love Cambodia.

In Indonesia the coffee beans are shit out by a civet cat .. It's all the same shit! lol They call it Kopi Luwak ' Coffee Luwak' . I'm seriously considering moving to Seim Reap as the visa is easier than anywhere else in Asia. I have 6 month here in the UK then due to a break up I will be moving onto the next chapter of life..

Try palace gate hotel and resort (resort, not the residence) same sort of price but even better than this and right next to everything. Opposite the royal palace entrance.

@MarcsMildlyInteresting no problems buddy. 😀 Sim Boutique hotel is nice too and cheaper. The $1 room upgrade gets you a bath and a much bigger room. 😉 I've stayed at quite a few hotels in PP as I have a travel company in Cambodia.

We had the best day out, although the waffle's ratio of batter to coconut chunks was slightly off compared to the best-in-class version we are fortunate to have in SR. The juice was really good. Can't say I've had better.

In case you didn't know, gated community Peng Huot used to be a huge lake and wetland area. We used to come here during weekend for family relaxing and fishing way back in the 60s. Weve been staying here for over ten years now after our retirement from US. We love the area as it's quiet and peaceful hidden out of PP City. Be open minded and kind whenever possible as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Peace from a genocide survivor ✌️

G'day! Ah so it was all wetlands? Seems that a lot of wetlands south of PP have been filled in and developed over the last decade or so. I hope some are eventually preserved, as much as Peng Huot was a lovely place i'm sure it use to be beautiful when you visited it back in the day.
