Daily reminder that calling the punisher a hero is like calling joker a sane and caring individual
@Suthek5 күн бұрын
Frank is the logical conclusion of a world that has to adhere to the meta rules of comic books; a world where villains like the Joker get locked up only to escape by next week's issue; a world where the public justice system has to be incompetent for vigilantes to shine and popular villains to reoccur. He's a monster born from a system many heroes lament as broken but few realize won't ever get better, because they can only view it form within their universe.
@jackstar98345 күн бұрын
@@Suthek Logical conclusion but not a solution
@Suthek5 күн бұрын
@@jackstar9834 Obviously not. He's still part of the Marvel universe and therefore subject to the same rules. That's why he mostly ever gets to take out a neverending gallery of thugs that seem to come out of nowhere especially for him (because they are). He's the result of a justice system that by the law of their universe cannot improve things, but by the same law he himself cannot improve things either. On a meta level that makes him a kinda tragic character, destined to charge at windmills.
@aaronnguyen45064 күн бұрын
@@Suthekthing is that adhering to the meta rules of comic books, frank _isnt_ logical, because one of those meta rules is that even dead characters don’t stay dead. their nameless goons do, sure, but there are always more nameless goons

Indiscriminately killing anyone, without law or justice, isn't really a good point. That's what Frank does. The 1 label you really don't want in this life is "Murderer"

@ozymandiastheiii91762 күн бұрын
@@Markm8 when I see the justice system fail, I feel sadness for the victims that it failed. I ignore the rage urge to murder the killers. Frank Castle is not right. The moment you pre-meditate going out and killing people, out of self-defense, you become the evil you hate. Ask the punisher. Even he is ashamed of what he's become. He came to this realization while fighting his childhood hero, Captain America.
@secretagent46107 күн бұрын
I'm siding with Frank. After all, he was right. Look what happened as soon as he freed the criminal. If i were Matt, after that moment, I'd have been like "Damn, you were right. Maybe i should rethink this. 😐"
@Bantesting7 күн бұрын
This. People change and all but if you shoot someone dead for drugs you are trash without redemption. A mentally weak person who needs constant supervision is a joke. If the joker or these regular escape artists where pedophiles we wouldn't even question the deaths. Oh no joker got out again healed and fucked a child... well shit better lock him up again.
@micheal45267 күн бұрын
Not everyone can be redeemed, and no one would be redeemed that fast. But it’s worth sparring people in situations like that so maybe they will change. The chance is high enough it’s basic math, like the punisher likes to believe.
@secretagent46107 күн бұрын
@@micheal4526 But by sparing the criminal, the criminal may harm or end other's lives. I thought Matt's whole moral lesson the writer was trying to glorify is dumb because it in a sense sides with the criminal rather than his victims hence my previous sentence. As for people changing for the better, from what I've seen in life, most people more or less stay the same.
@Broomer526 күн бұрын
He’s essentially Red Hood without a Batman to pull him back. Everyone complains about Batman’s code and says how it doesn’t work. Then usually those same people complain about Punisher which is weird to me. Punisher is a hero only in technicality. He’s not an Anti Hero either, he’s the rare Anti-Villain. He travels from place to place taking out criminals, dirty cops and corrupt government officials. His first appearance was fighting Spider-Man because he believed to lies from the Paper only stopping when he realized they were lies. He’ll kill even heroes if he thinks they’ll stop him. The End Justify the Means is his only code. He doesn’t believe he’s the good guy, but he believes he’s necessary. If the time ever came where he finally got rid of every criminal, he has one bullet left for himself

This is such a terrible take on the Punisher. It’s an otherwise great run of Daredevil, but I hate anytime Chip brings in Frank, because you can tell, he’s never actually read any of his books, only watched the Netflix shows. Which, again, are terrible adaptations of the character. Great performances, though!

@@valiantshadowproductions Very true, it's the same with Batman or Joker. We always get peices but they're never fully committed to giving us the full character in a film. War Zone is the 2nd closest in terms of accuracy in aesthetic, tone and character, with 2004 being the furthest. 1989 has the only fault of making Frank a cop, but is probably THE most accurate take on Frank. A broken soulless man with nothing left and no longer gives a shit about anything but the mission. But Netflix Frank is basically Year One, at least in DD anyway, season 1 had elements of Year One but made it more realistic and I don't fault them for season 2 because they had no choice but to write it the way they did because they knew Netflix was cancelling all the shows.

Spider-Man’s initial strength was 10 tons, but in the years since his creation, Spider-Man has performed feats of strength that significantly exceeded that limit. He’s held up the Daily Bugle, a corner of Penn Station and even caught a falling elevator by the cables. His clone, Kaine can lift up to 40 tons and, while he was still significantly stronger than Otto’s “Superior Spider-Man”, Octavius was still able to push Peter’s body to the point where he stay competitive. He’s proven to be physically stronger than Miles*, who’s also listed as being able to lift 10 tons and at one point lifted upwards of 15 tons on a regular basis. All this hints at unrealized potential, limited by his immense restraint while fighting villains - even villains as strong as Scorpion and Green Goblin. Like Superman, he psychologically limits himself and doesn’t know how strong he can be when he cuts loose simply because it’s so rare of an occurrence that he hasn’t had time to figure it out. *Physically stronger doesn’t mean more powerful. Miles has powers he doesn’t and, while his spider sense is less developed, that could be simply a gap in his experience.

I'm confused, the way DD said *"the best of us"* and Spidey's *"spread the word"* , implied that they're both from a larger organization, or atleast, a voluntary community. It can't be the Avengers, cuz strong or not, both Spidey and DD are still street level heroes. It also can't be Midtown Gang, since Spidey looks so mature. Is there any vigilante faction in Marvel that also included both DD and Spidey in it?

Spider-Man is essentially what Superman is, but in a different way. Superman is a symbol that inspires hope, Spider-Man is someone who also inspires hope, but he isn’t someone who can fly or shoot lasers and always there to be the big strong muscle guy that defeats all evil supervillains and aliens. He’s also a guy, a guy who’ll annoy you with something that interests him, fanboy over a superhero he looks up to, joke with bad guys after they failed to rob a bank. He’s your neighbor and a friend, and if he’s your friend. He’s gonna be honest with you, not because you might not like it, but because he knows it’ll better yourself.
